Ci sono molti parassiti, come alcune specie di imenotteri, dove la femmina depone delle uova nel bruco, alcuni vengono punti durante l'ultima fase poco prima di impuparsi, altri anche durante le prime fasi della crescita.
Dalle uova che sono state deposte nel macaone nascono delle piccolissime larve, che lo divorano lentamente, lasciando gli organi vitali per ultimi per non farlo morire subito.
Quando le larve sono cresciute, escono dal bruco

A primavera e in estate ogni giorno ispeziono bene i finocchietti, raccolgo i bruchi quando sono ancora delle larve di colore nero e puntini arancioni o durante le prime fasi della crescita cosi sono sicuro che stanno bene
Ci sono tanti pericoli per i macaoni, una volta ne ho visto che veniva mangiato da un ragno sul finocchietto
