, 1/500 f/14.0, ISO 1000, tripod. Specie: Papilio machaon

Reading the caption I see that you are just tripping .
The photo is very beautiful , sharp with beautiful colors .
When the chrysalis hatches it will show itself in all its beauty .
I believe that the Macaone is absolutely one of the most beautiful butterflies we have .where I go in the mountains there are several and I have a lot of fun photographing them.
Congratulations
Hello
Walter

Thanks for the beautiful comment Walter, as far as nature and photography are concerned I am super fixed and the free time I dedicate to these passions woe to those who touch me :-D
Macaons are beautiful, both from caterpillars and butterflies.
Breeding them is not difficult, you have to remember to make them eat and be careful when it's time to hatch to watch them come out on time, many times even at night :-)
In my garden there are quite a few, since I raise them they have increased in number and even butterflies always live among my plants, it is a great

Very nice passion and love for nature that you put in your photos Marco .
Butterflies are sublime and ephemeral beings and being able to admire them is a great gift of nature.
In my house on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines I have a giant butterfly tree, the buddleia and I spend whole afternoons admiring and photographing the many butterflies that every day appreciate its nectar.
Best
regardsWalter

Hello Marco, very nice positioning of this elegant caterpillar, a click that transmits beauty and emotions. Bravissimo, hello, good evening and good Sunday. Ps. I like to see you passionate in taking care of macaon caterpillars, I have stopped for several years because in my garden they are all eaten by great, blackcaps and sparrows, then I noticed that there is also a small fly that through its sting lays inside the caterpillar a larva or an egg (I have not documented, I have only seen this action and I deduced on larva or egg) so that after a few days the macaone caterpillar it begins to lose color and not to grow and goodbye, so that reluctantly I stopped, you have the chance, continue like this. Bravissimo, hello

Hello Marco, congratulations for this beautiful macro of the caterpillar of the macaone and for the interesting explanation of your breeding. Unfortunately, out of 100 eggs in the end an average of 5 butterflies will be born so by protecting them from parasites as you are doing you can get to 80% of births. Last year I found 4 caterpillars on fennel planted in the garden, I tried to leave them there and all 4 died from parasites, then I found 4 others then I put them safely in a special canvas cage and I lost only one from the other 3 were born beautiful macaoni.
Keep it up, a warm greeting, hello Fabrizio.

Thank you very much Fabrizio for appreciating my photo and told your
experienceThe macaone eggs I can not always identify them in nature.
In spring and summer every day I inspect the fennel well, I collect the caterpillars when they are still black larvae and orange dots or during the early stages of growth so I'm sure they are fine :-)
There are so many dangers for macaoni, once I saw that it was eaten by a spider on fennel :-o
