L'evoluzione dei punti di emissione intorno al cratere principale dell'anonimo vulcano di La Palma è ancora molto dinamica. Questa è una foto scattata domenica 3 Ottobre, quindicessimo giorno di eruzione, pochi minuti dopo il parziale crollo del cratere principale che ha generato a sua volta un copioso sversamento di magma verso valle. La parte crollata del cono è chiaramente visibile nella foto. Sembra che parte della parete frammentata sia caduta nel cratere stesso, ostruendo parzialmente il punto di emissione principale, facendo emergere due chiare fontane di gas e magma. L'eruzione è iniziata alle 14:12 UTC del 19 Settembre 2021 nell'area di Cabeza de Vaca su Montaña Rajada (Las Manchas, comune di El Paso) con una fessura di circa 200 metri sul lato occidentale del vulcano principale Cumbre Vieja. Quasi 6500 persone sono state evacuate nel presente e più di 1000 edifici sono stati distrutti sotto i fiumi di magma (che hanno raggiunto l'Oceano Atlantico il 28 settembre).
