L'Abbazia di Santa Maria del Patir (Padre, dal greco) con annesso il monastero, di cui rimangono solo gli archi del chiostro, è stata eretta intorno all'anno 1000. La storia di questa importante abbazia la potete conoscere a grandi linee sulle pagine internet ad essa dedicate. Si trova nei dintorni di Rossano Calabro, da dove comincia un'erta strada per l'aspra collina calabra. Si sale fino a perdere di vista il mare, per arrivare nel magnifico parco nazionale della Sila. Di questo bell'esempio di romanico normanno vi propongo la facciata. Per ora.
