Questa immagine è senza dubbio il frutto della mia fissazione per questa location nell'est dell'Islanda! :) Dopo nove tentativi nell'arco di una decina di giorni sono riuscito ad avere la luce "epica" in grado di dare giustizia a questo luogo meraviglioso. La minuziosa conoscenza del territorio, maturata dall'esserci stato così tante volte in pochi giorni, mi ha permesso di catturare due immagini al tramonto nella stessa sessione. La prima immagine, un seascape, è stata presa nell'ultima luce del giorno, fra gli scogli vicino al mare. In quel momento mi resi conto che il vento si era calmato del tutto ed ho intuito che questa pozza sarebbe potuta essere una specie di specchio. Nel frattenpo il cielo si stava colorando sempre più ed una luce caldissima avvolgeva il paesaggio. Spostarsi dalla mia postazione avrebbe comportato il rischio di perdere una seconda immagine nell'afterglow. Sapevo che a livello compositivo la pozza funzionava, ed avendo già fotografato nei giorni precedenti (con una luce bella ma non "epica") sapevo esattamente dove posizionarmi. Ma sapevo anche che una legerissima brezza avrebbe reso comunque questa composizione non funzionante. Fidandomi del mio istinto ho rischiato, mi sono spostato ed ho corso fino alla pozza. Ho avuto giusto il tempo di rimontare tutto, regolare lo scatto e catturare un paio di immagini (questa è la migliore per posizione delle nubi) prima che la luce si affievolisse per poi trasformarsi in un blu intenso, che sono rimasto ad ammirare per una buona mezz'ora prima di andare via verso l'auto.
