Etna, 1 Ottobre 2020. Quale modo migliore di iniziare il mese con una escursione sui crateri sommitali. Qui mi trovo sul bordo del Cratere di Nord-Est, il punto più alto dell'Etna (3.325 metri). Il tempo fortunatamente ha concesso una breve tregua, non era scontato visto che per buona parte della giornata le nubi erano sempre in agguato per poi presidiare in pianta stabile la sommità verso il pomeriggio. Sempre grandi emozioni poter ammirare da lì l'imponenza del Mongibello. Attualmente all'interno di questo cratere si è formato una sorta di tappo da cui fuoriescono degli sfiatatoi che ad intermittenza emettono boati generati dalla fuoriuscita di gas, oltre ad una moderata emissione di materiale lavico. Quando borbotta è inquietante e comunque per precauzione lì si sosta solo per pochi minuti, tanto quanto basta per riempire la mente e il cuore di ricordi unici, indelebili. I'm looking at the 'blue' you see... if you talk about the smoke coming out of the volcanic cone is composed of both water vapor (white color) and gas (blue color), so the color is just that.
