Doubtful, I think Combatant but very undecided sent on October 04, 2020 (18:02) by Mauro Vianello Lucifer. 25 comments, 511 views. [retina]

at 500mm, 1/1600 f/8.0, ISO 640, hand held. Riserva Saline di Trapani e Paceco, Italy.

24 Agosto 2020, Salinagrande. Scatto dall'auto.

Looks like a bigger Piovanello to me, nice picture.

Major, I hadn't thought of that. How size it might fit, beak a little long though.
Limicles, with the various liveries, pose many problems of identification.
Thanks Mauro. Hello.

to avoid misunderstandings, this is a young common Piovanello. The Piovanello Maggiore, much rarer, is completely different, in the plumage, and especially in the beak.

Thank you Marco. Always a nice place, I had passed even 2 years ago, in September. Next time in the spring.
Thanks Stephen, it was my primary hypothesis, even though it seemed a bit 'robust'. Corroborated by the fact that she has seen others there, with unmistakable late summer livery.

hello
for me it's a black-bellied piovanello at the 1st winter.

Hello Istrice, thank you for your contribution.
I see that I did well to seek clarification and that identification is not a simple matter.
From the photo you don't see the size but the Black Pancianera is smaller than the municipality; and maybe it has the shortest neck.

Hello Mauro
at first glance he looked like a fighter for his posture and plumage, but I think it is definitely a common rainman, the beak in fact is slightly longer and curved , while in the fighter is shorter
Eclude the major, is more stocky and the beak is shorter, recently seen a couple in my parts, unfortunately landed in a point not photographable from the station, but seen live.

For me common rain, the major is completely different, black belly usually has short neck and more stocky ;-)

I also think that it is a 'belly' with the livery already after the reproductive period, we see each other again in September and it is rare to find them again with the 'black belly' ;-)
7th and congratulations
paolo

Thank you Franco, you have done more or less my reasoning; in fact I would lean for the young municipality.
Thanks Roberto, my neck also seems too long for a Black Belly.
Thanks Paul, apart from the neck also the size - which you obviously can not evaluate - led me to exclude the Black Belly. Thank you for the compliments.
I'm sure you're making small... put a nice name on your forehead, don't you...?! :-D
I'm very sad not to be able to identify for sure what I photograph... I often take unnecessary photos just for that! These were at a good distance.

Hello Mauro, I leave the identification of the subject to the most experienced of me. You posted a wonderful click for the game of ripples on the water and well positioning of the subject in the frame, excellent also the light and colors that wrap the file, always very good
Hello, good Sunday :-) :-) :-)

Thank you for the thorough analysis, always too kind.
How much of it pleases me, more than others.
Good week.
