È dalle prime luci che perdo volontariamente l'orientamento in queste selve primordiali. Ad un tratto avverto un bagliore provenire dalle mie spalle: è in arrivo una scarica di fotoni che, come uno tsunami, sembra volere annichilire la foresta ancora assopita dopo la piovosa nottata. Mi volto e quasi accecato da questo lampo improvviso, socchiudo gli occhi provando ad osservare gli alberi che sembrano volersi scostare per evitare la violenta ondata. Mi avvicino attratto dal loro indefinibile richiamo, quando fra le particelle in sospensione potrei giurare di avere assistito alla fotosintesi clorofilliana. Divento una spugna! Posso percepire i suoni, i profumi, mi abbandono in una spirale onirica in un battito di ciglia. Smetto di vedere con gli occhi e mi avvicino alle dinamiche più nascoste del mondo naturale. La storia di questi alberi, veri e propri viaggiatori del tempo, mi è improvvisamente chiara: la loro staticità è solo apparente, i veri testimoni della storia del mondo sono qui con me in questa mattinata che sfiora il sovrannaturale. Nella sacralità del momento sento che l'aria che sta raggiungendo i miei polmoni non è mai stata più pura.
