Patria e Onore, questo é quanto scritto sulla palazzina principale di Piazza Armi della Scuola Sottuficiali della Marina Militare a Taranto. Il patriottismo è un pensiero nobile che ci accomuna o perlomeno dovrebbe accomunarci. Molti confondono il patriottismo in nazionalismo usando talvolta paroloni che portano addirittura ad accusare I patrioti di fascismo e nazismo. Il patriottismo é un sentimento nobile d'appartenenza a una stirpe. Noi figli dei nostri genitori, che a loro volta sono stati figli dei loro genitori. Difendiamo quindi l'eredità lasciataci da chi ci ha preceduto. Questo comprende naturalmente la storia, la cultura, le tradizioni e non di meno la religione che ha regolato e guidato la vita del nostro Paese. Papa Giovanni Paolo II affermava che “ la fede cristiana ha plasmato la cultura del Continente e si è intrecciata in modo inestricabile con la sua storia”. Il non rispetto di quanto sopra esposto, puó portare facilmente ad una degenerazione di pensiero che poi porta al fascismo e al nazismo. La storia dell'ultimo secolo ne é testimone. Quanto accadde in Italia negli anni venti e subito dopo in Germania testimoniano che quando il popolo é insoddisfatto si aggrappa dove puó. Mazzini affermava: « Dove non è Patria, non è Patto comune al quale possiate richiamarvi: regna solo l'egoismo degli interessi […]. La Patria non è un aggregato, è un'associazione. Non v'è dunque veramente la Patria senza un Diritto uniforme. Non v'è Patria dove l'uniformità di quel Diritto è violata dall'esistenza di caste, di privilegi, d'ineguaglianze dove l'attività d'una porzione delle forze e facoltà individuale è cancellata o assopita. » Sintetizzando, per me il nazionalismo é il ripudio delle altre Nazioni e degli altri popoli mentre il patriottismo accetta gli altri ma chiede a questi il rispetto dei propri valori e tradizioni. Quando queste vengono calpestate dall'esterno dei propri confine o ancora di piú da chi é stato accolto all'interno dei propri confini, questo sfocia in nazionalismo e razzismo. Se ció non fosse, allora si dovrebbero classificare anche I partigiani, quelli veri degli anni quaranta come nazionalisti e non come patrioti. Oso appellare Sandro Pertini come “ il gran Presidente e vero partigiano”. Lui affermava nel suo discorso di insediamento nel 1978: “Bisogna che la Repubblica sia giusta e incorrotta, forte e umana: forte con tutti i colpevoli, umana con i deboli e i diseredati.” Grazie Presidente, personalmente spero che questo momento finalmente arrivi. Dedico questo scatto all'amico Nightflier, un'amico, un'uomo, un gran fotografo e Italiano. Auguro a voi tutti un buon 2 Giugno festa della Repubblica Italiana. Sullo scatto: Il Ponte Girevole rappresenta sicuramente il simbolo più conosciuto della città di Taranto.Fu inaugurato dal Presidente della Repubblica Giovanni Gronchi il 9 marzo 1958. È costituito da un'imponente struttura in metallo con azionamento elettrico e scavalca il canale navigabile collegando l'Isola della Città Vecchia con il Borgo Nuovo. Assistere all'apertura del Ponte Girevole è davvero uno spettacolo singolare, tanto più considerando che avviene solo per consentire il passaggio di navi di grandi dimensioni nel Mar Piccolo o da questo verso il Mar Grande. Personalmente ci sono passato numerose volte da sopra e durante il mio imbarco anche da sotto. Era da parecchi anni che non ritornavo a Taranto ho visto con piacere che la cittá si è abbellita. Nonostante gli innumerevoli problemi é una cittá che vale la pena di visitare. Ho passato una bellissima giornata in compagnia di mia zia e i miei cugini.
