A heartfelt tribute to his uncle and all the boys who were denied any future.
Bravo to post this photo, they live at least in memory.
A greeting.

Honour to the fallen, always and wherever. Everyone leaves wives, children, parents, friends. And tears have no boundaries.

What a surprise! I know the sad story very well. I've been in the Navy for several years. If I remember correctly, the two cruisers were called Da Barbiano and Da Giussano, carrying the drums of gasoline on deck. Beautiful and moving photo of the crew in full. Keep it!
Thank you very much Roby. For me, it's a family photo. Thank you again!

Franco remembers well!!! The cruisers were just "Da Barbiano" and "Da Giussano". Informing me of this sad affair, I discovered that the Italian historian Francesco Mattesini has written several books, including "The clash of Cape Bon"
where he meticulously exposes the stages of this battle with his many mistakes.
Thank you for your kind comment and I wish you a good evening.

Mr Roby. Perhaps you know the book written after the war: " Ships and armchairs" by Antonio Trizzino. To read!

I read the sad story. What fate then the alliances changed and the British would no longer bomb Italian ships. War is just a bad thing and to think that it is men who make war.... it is not a natural disaster. 800 young Italians.... there are no words! A shot that does not make us forget and makes us appreciate peace. Greetings. Magchus
