Pizzomunno era un marinaio giovane e bello e le sirene se ne erano infatuate, ma lui era già innamorato di Cristalda, la ragazza più bella del villaggio. Allora le sirene invidiose la rapirono. Narra la leggenda che Pizzomunno per il dolore rimase immobile di fronte al mare sperando di rivedere la sua amata, trasformandosi lentamente in uno scoglio. Lo stesso che si può ammirare oggi sulla spiaggia di Vieste: un enorme faraglione, un "gigante di bianco calcare". #Mare
