Probably the 6400iso affected the overall yield, opting for a more open diaphragm value and backing up improved the pdc and reduced the general noise.

I remind you that if the subject was filmed in a controlled environment or during a falconry show, as per regulation, it must be indicated in the shooting data. (correct phrase: " subject taken in amb.checked ) more precisely in the "Caption" field that exists to add other annotations or any information you want to share about the photo.
Check every photo you've posted so far and update.

Hi, Lauro...
I was testing out my newly arrived lens when this very large owl unexpectedly invaded a wooded area behind my home.
I was standing on my deck when the bird flew to a nearby tree, perching about 9-10 feet from me. I began picture taking, but the owl next looked as though it would proceed to fly directly on to me, at which point I hastened to extract myself...hardly what I would call a "controlled environment"! Especially since, not shown in this particular photo, are the very long, strong, sharp claws which were quite intimidating. I didn't have either time or enough experience with this lens to be able to optimize the image...but I was thrilled that so many photos came out relatively well, and wanted to share them with all of you. If photos like these are not welcome on the site, please let me know and I will cease.
Incidentally, I've never been to a falconry show. Are there any such shows available in my area (northern Virginia in the USA)?? Long ago, I visited Saudia Arabia, but wasn't fortunate enough to be able to arrange to attend one.
Thanks, Lauro, for your help.
Don

The question was correct ... If a subject was taken up in captivity (controlled environment) it must be declared in the caption space.
Was the subject free :-) ? Good because thanks to your story you have sent us your feelings of the meeting. ;-) Hi, Lauro
