A lost battle sent on August 05, 2019 (14:37) by Susy Dan. 92 comments, 3419 views. [retina]

at 176mm, 1/1000 f/6.3, ISO 400, hand held. Kruger National Park, South Africa. Specie: Connochaetes taurinus

Nature is wonderful, but it can be very cruel...

a spectacular scene, as a documentary, a remarkable fortune to witness it but also great skill in immortalizing it with dignity; with the heron to complete the picture :-o ;-)

I was hoping that the wildebeest would be saved :-( After all, the crocodile must also feed, the law of survival is dominant in nature.
What brave hippos, though!
Congratulations to your cold blood, Susy, I don't know if I would have dared to look!

I confess that I could not stay until the final epilogue... It's nature, I know, but I love animals too much to put up with their suffering.
I was able to film the scene on the other side of the crocodile. I'm going to post it. Hello everyone.

You made a great shot. Not only the incredible action taken but also the background (beautiful the bird) and the whole compo.
For me top.
