Non sapevo che Banksy fosse nato a Bristol, sicchè di passaggio dalla città ho passato un pomeriggio in cerca dei suoi murales, spesso parecchio nascosti, come in questo caso, un vicolo piccolo, stretto e laterale cieco in zona portuale. Il soggetto è evidentemente tratto dalla ragazza con turbante di Jan Vermeer, pittore fiammingo celeberrimo. Questa interpretazione dello street artist è stata intitolata girl with pierced eardrum ed il lobo dell'orecchio è costituito da un fanale giallo suoneria d'antifurto.
