La Porsche 356 venne costruita dal 1948 al 1966 in 8 serie differenti e con allestimenti Coupé, Cabriolet, Convertibile, Speedster, Hard Top e Roadster. Il suo motore era un 4 cilindri boxer raffreddato ad aria ed era derivato da quello del Maggiolino VolksWagen... pure questo progettato da Ferdinand Porsche... con cilindrate che inizialmente erano di 1100 cm3, eroganti 40 cavalli, poi in vari potenziamenti fino ad arrivare a 2000 cm3 sviluppanti 130 cavalli. Questa della fotografia è una versione Coupè 4° Serie costruita dal 1955 al 1957. Era dotata del motore boxer di 1300 cm3 che poteva essere fornito con potenza di 44 o 60 cavalli.
