The photo I like, colors and composition, I do not understand but as a 10mm f8 sfires the background this way...???? It also seems almost that only one part moves??
a greeting, Roberto..

Thanks very much, Roberto!

I admit I had expected the background to be a little more in focus but actually really liked it this way, as the image is all about the patterns in the ice. I was very close to the ice, so I guess that explains it. A tripod and longer exposure with small aperture wasn't an option in that position - quite precariously as it was!

You are looking at the clouds when you say 'moved'? That is just as they appeared in the sky, contrast accentuated a little in post production.

Ann :))

Hello Ann is a beautiful photo, very effective composition, the atmosphere and the subject are beautiful, however I think the background part is out of focus and would have had more strength with an all in focus. This my personal opinion 8-)

Thank you very much for your comment and advice, Ale! You may be right but it wasn't an option on this occasion to set up a tripod so that I could captured a greater depth of field (both camera and I would have risked ending up in the icy water MrGreen. The focus on the background was softer than I expected but I found it pleasing as it draws all the attention to the ice patterns in the foreground.

Thanks again

Ann :))

PS Thanks for translating your comment but it isn't necessary in this part of the site - the comments are automatically translated, as are titles (but not captions). Similarly, I type in English and it is automatically translated, so that you can read it - I have no control over how it is translated.... Sorriso
