Passeggiando per il centro sotto Natale, scorgo la vetrina di un negozio di fotografia con una bella collezione di lenti usate e vintage: come non entrare a dare un'occhiata! Quand'ecco che mi cade l'occhio su un obiettivo che mi pare di riconoscere, anche se fino a quel giorno l'avevo visto solo in foto: era proprio lui, il mitico Leica APO Telyt 180! Ed era quasi "abbandonato", con segni di usura e un graffio sulla lente frontale. Chiunque abbia letto il bell'articolo di Marco Cavina su questo obiettivo, non può che restarne affascinato. Data la mia curiosità di provarlo e giudicando il graffio sulla lente ininfluente sulla qualità d'immagine, mi decido a dargli una nuova casa, visto anche il prezzaccio a cui era proposto. La focale è interessante, non troppo lunga, i telescopi solitamente hanno focali dai 400 mm in su; di contro, non è facile trovare ottiche apocromatiche di focale minore, ed io ero estremamente curioso di vedere apparire stelle prive di aberrazioni cromatiche sul display della fotocamera. Il Leica APO Telyt 180 è dunque un oggetto che può dare grosse soddisfazioni agli appassionati del genere. Qui sul forum ci sono immagini molto belle di Stefano Palmieri e di Elio Magnabosco, realizzate con questo obiettivo. Nel mio caso, l'ho accoppiato alla E-PL5, che ho modificato con filtro CLS, tramite speed-booster Zonghyi Lens Turbo II. La focale di 180 mm, ridotta a 135 mm dal Lens Turbo, con il sensore 4/3 consente di inquadrare la cintura e la Spada di Orione, includendo M42, la Testa di Cavallo, la Nebulosa Fiamma e la Nebulosa de Mairan: giudicate voi!
