La vecchia funivia che collega Punta Hellbronner all'Aguille du Midi. Adrenalinica a dir poco! Costruita nel dopoguerra su un'idea italiana, collega le due stazioni citate attraversando tutta la Mer de Glace del Monte Bianco. In centro si intravede il cosiddetto pilone sospeso, mirabile esempio di inventiva e genialità (italiana). Trovandosi di fronte ad una campata di 3,3 km era necessario un sostegno per le funi, che si sarebbero adagiate sulla neve. Al tempo stesso, non era possibile costruire un pilone sul ghiacciaio, dati i movimenti di quest'ultimo. Così fu inventato questo pilone, che viene sostenuto dalle funi agganciate alle cime circostanti!
