La Reggia di Colorno è? una complessa e monumentale struttura architettonica, con oltre 400 sale, corti e cortili, abbracciata dal torrente Parma, dalla piazza e dal meraviglioso giardino alla francese di recente ripristinato. La Reggia, un tempo abitata dai Sanseverino, dai Farnese, dai Borbone e da Maria Luigia d'Austria, oggi ospita mostre temporanee e manifestazioni culturali. Affascinanti sono gli appartamenti del Duca e della Duchessa e la Sala Grande, la neoclassica Cappella di San Liborio, con le tele di celebri artisti e l'organo Serassi, utilizzato nell'annuale Stagione Concertistica; l'appartamento nuovo del Duca Ferdinando e l'Osservatorio Astronomico. Dal 18 dicembre 2015 alcune sale sono state arricchite e allestite con gli arredi storici provenienti dalle sedi della Provincia di Parma. Si tratta di mobili, vasi, suppellettili varie, quadri, arazzi, per un totale di 45 pezzi, tutti? arredi originali documentati che storicamente facevano parte della dotazione della residenza ducale, ma anche arredi originali dell'epoca compatibili per qualità e caratteri formali con la Reggia.
