I tre beduini sudanesi di cui posto lo scatto, sono Bisharin appartenenti alla tribù nomade dell'etnia Beja. Non erano cammellieri per turisti ma svolgevano un lavoro molto antico: il trasferimento dei dromedari, attraverso il deserto di Bayuda, verso i lontani mercati egiziani. I dromedari, di razza bishari, venivano riuniti in molte centinaia di capi e probabilmente erano diretti al mercato degli animali di Shalatin, piccola città portuale sul mar Rosso, per essere macellati. La pista da me percorsa era costellata da carcasse: i dromedari meno resistenti morivano durante l'interminabile cammino e rinsecchivano sotto la violenta calura del sole. In ogni caso la loro sorte era la medesima: solo una questione di tempo. Foto scattata con reflex Pentax SF7, pellicola Kodak, digitalizzata maggio 2017. Non ho i dati di scatto.
