The Valleys of South Wales were once blighted by savage coal mining and steel production industries and are now slowly regaining their natural beauty. Climbing the very high steep hill back on 2nd January above Ebbw Vale, I came across this massive iron wheel mechanism, perhaps part of a pit head winding system. It was a real struggle to get a decent image of it, in its landscape and with the low sun so strong. #BlackAndWhite #Fisheye

Great shooting position, Tim! I love the way you have controlled the sun (and the little tree on the right!)
