m42, mosaic "historic" ... sent on January 27, 2017 (13:54) by Cristianfat. 8 comments, 1479 views.

Posa B f/5.0, ISO 640, tripod.

Buon viaggio! This latest work is the result of images taken in about 10 years and collects the signal acquired from different places with 3 Canon SLR (20Da, 60d Baader and 5d mark3). All shots were taken at the focus of the telescope newton 25 cm F5. A total of about 6 hours were necessary to pose, to iso varying between 640 and 2,000. M42 is the brightest nebular object in our sky, so it is often encountered on sites and publications with this result ... I hope to present it in a new form and accompany the between its gaseous scrolls, where young stars are being born! Have a good trip! Cristian.

I too had thought of correcting Raggetti to the star at the bottom left, but that whole area would be impoverished compositional, so I preferred to retouch it just to make symmetrical rays (there were only vertical ones). In this way I believe that star scale better all, as the middle and upper part of the image are more rich in detail "strong." This was my reasoning and even a little 'my taste .... of course there can be other than a shared interpretation!
