Castello di Ozzano Monferrato (AL), sullo sfondo il Massicio del Monte Rosa. Attualmente il castello è una residenza privata (proprietà dei Visconti). E' di origini anteriori al 1164, anno in cui fu concesso da Federico Barbarossa ai marchesi del Monferrato che, per la posizione e l'amenità dei luoghi, lo elessero a propria villeggiatura. In seguito passò ai signori detti di Ozzano, al Cardinale Arborio, ai Sannazzaro ed ai Montiglio. Il nucleo originario risale all'XI secolo. Attualmente il complesso, che subì molti rimaneggiamenti nelle varie epoche, ha l'aspetto di una bella villa nobiliare. L'ala ad est, caratterizzata dalla muratura con merlatura a coda di rondine, è sicuramente la parte più antica. Il castello è circondato da un rigoglioso parco, in cui spicca un secolare cedro del Libano. Nel parco i dislivelli ottenuti per terrazzamento e contenuti da muro, costituivano l'originaria difesa del paese e del castello.
