con Canon EF 1.4x II, 1/2500 f/4.0, ISO 3200, hand held. Specie: Eugenes fulgens

Although in the exif is indicated ISO 3200, this photo is actually equivalent to ISO 6400 (3200@-1.0). It 's an old photo that I had initially rejected for too much noise, and I've recovered now thanks to improved techniques of Noise Reduction !

Update: this is a cutout 100%, before and after ( click to enlarge! ):

Obviously there is still some noise, but to be a crop at 100% seems good!

Well I must say that the new technique of noise reduction works great! great shot, beautiful colors, wonderful bokeh, subject and com super! great machine the MK3 I've never understood why you sold ...

I have not seen the previous version but I must say that here the noise
is decidedly more than acceptable.
I used the DS MKIII for a long time and have never managed to get
results like these ISO.
Congratulations!

Thanks for the comments!

For my needs I prefer the 7D, although it is slightly lower as image quality (the resolution is similar but is 1 stop noisier). Overall, however, I feel better, especially now that I use the 300 2.8 instead of the 600 :-)

I have not seen the previous version but I must say here that the disorder is much more than acceptable.

I had never published earlier versions ;-) Here you can see some similar www.juzaphoto.com/index2.php?l=it&pg=profile2&mode=viewgalleri but merely 3200.

Quite remarkable!
Amaze me even more those made with the 500D!
Seeing these, I think your "old" noise reduction technique is not
to be abandoned! ;-)

I think your "old" noise reduction technique is not to be abandoned

here what did you use?

I use them both, both the "old" (ie, the only noise reduction of PS) and the new (noise reduction in ACR, more effective).

In practice:

1) apply throughout the photo the RR of Camera RAW, which completely removes color noise and decreases the brightness a bit (do not remove everything, but still better than PS)

2) for the photos above ISO 1600, I apply the RR Photoshop, using very strong values ??but only in the background, using layer mask.

Beautiful.
Ps. enter some recovery of images taken with the 7d are curious and interested:-D

This is still better than the other, it must be said that the difference in terms of noise reduction is abysmal. Superb.

I also believe this is much better than the other shutter as regards the reduction of the noise.

Until now, with the 7D I had hardly ever taken pictures in 3200 or beyond ... the next time you have occasion I will also go well with these feelings and I will publish the results!

I would say that the RR of ACR you earn a nice stop of usability 8-)

For those who have the 7D (or camera bodies noisy) these are pearls of wisdom, thanks Juza

all threads Canon vs Nikon noise and high ISO .......... All over?

eh eh:-D Of course not, of course, the better the picture starting the better the result ... if with the 7D and the best processing techniques, the limit is 3200, or 6400 in some cases, with the best SLR (D3s, D4 and 1DX) I think we can get good at ISO 51200 ... and in some extreme cases even to 102400, obviously doing some sort of compromise.

Mmmmm to reach 102,400 must make many compromises ... still do not understand the meaning of that sensitivity S.
