I respond to Undertaker. For shots like this and others in the series, it is necessary to catch animals and photograph them after they are reassured (so to speak) and posed. Of course one must know how to do, both to avoid the risk of a bite, both to reduce the stress to the animal (which however is an ever-present component that must not be neglected). Often I merely observe and photograph them in their vipers "in situ" environment (using a telephoto lens), but it is clear that the results, from a purely technical point of view, are not comparable. I do not recommend anyone to undertake this type of photography if you do not have the necessary experience in handling snakes (I repeat, for both their safety and for that of animals). Rispondo a Undertaker. Per scatti come questo e gli altri della serie, è necessario catturare gli animali e fotografarli dopo averli tranquillizzati (si fa per dire) e messi in posa. Naturalmente bisogna saperlo fare, sia per evitare il rischio di un morso, sia per ridurre lo stress all'animale (che comunque è una componente sempre presente che non deve essere trascurata). Spesso mi limito ad osservare le vipere e a fotografarle nel loro ambiente "in situ" (usando un teleobiettivo), ma è chiaro che i risultati, dal punto di vista puramente tecnico, non sono paragonabili. Sconsiglio a chiunque di intraprendere questo tipo di fotografia se non si possiede la dovuta esperienza nella manipolazione dei serpenti (ripeto, sia per la propria sicurezza sia per quella degli animali). |
