Torre Abate è sicuramente la struttura idraulica più interessante di tutto il Delta del Po. Fu costruita nel 1569 durante la Grande Bonificazione Estense per favorire il deflusso a mare delle acque provenienti dall'alto ferrarese. Opera di ingegneria idraulica all'avanguardia per il tempo, era posta sul canale di bonifica in prossimità del suo sbocco a mare.
