"Foto scattata dal One World Trade Center" #NightPhotos #Notturno #LungheEsposizioni Lo One World Trade Center, anche noto non ufficialmente come Freedom Tower (Torre della Libertà), è il quarto grattacielo più alto del mondo ed il più alto dell'Emisfero occidentale. È il principale del New World Trade Center di New York, in Lower Manhattan, sul sito delle precedenti Torri Gemelle, distrutte negli attentati dell'11 settembre 2001. L'altezza dell'edificio è di 1776 piedi, pari a 541 metri e 33 centimetri ai quali si aggiungono i 5 metri del pennone che però non vengono calcolati nell'altezza totale. Il numero 1776 non è casuale: è stato scelto poiché rappresenta l'anno della dichiarazione di indipendenza degli Stati Uniti. La torre sorge nell'angolo nord-est del sito, per un'area complessiva di 325.280 m². La costruzione del grattacielo è iniziata ufficialmente il 27 aprile 2006, con la posa della prima pietra, e si è poi conclusa il 30 giugno 2013, con la collocazione dell'antenna. Attorno alla Freedom Tower sorgeranno anche altri edifici, di cui uno residenziale. Poco distante è ubicato anche il National September 11 Memorial & Museum, una collezione di immagini, cimeli e reperti storici riguardo agli attentati dell'11 settembre 2001.
