Dunno .... I do not convince me, I tried and it seems that Nikon shooting with greater sharpness.
I saw your picture, Juza, much more 'sharp with 7d ...

Cropping sounds great. Everything about the lens that makes better use of the high resolution. ;-)

I am not convinced I see more clarity and detail in other cameras, sensor too thick?

3B even be considered good,
It escapes me.

________

I just croppato 100% from a shot taken at random from those yet to develop the D800.
Simply open the RAW in ACR and croppato .... and nothing more.
Taken with the 16-35 f / 4 to f / 9 and croppando part definitely clearly focused.

Detail and sharpness of the D800 are absolutely superior and not a little !!!

I do not know how to insert the JPG because I'm not load being less than 1000 px on the long side.
If anyone is interested send it to you ....
otherwise tell me how and where to load so that it can be displayed directly in here.

cmq is impressive, really. In terms of comparisons would not know, I would have to be attached.

Honestly to me the quality looks very good, apart from the corners (where the 24-70 does not have enough risolvenza).

The path is taken from a fairly central part of the frame, where you can actually see the quality of the sensor without the limits of optics. It 'taken from the processed photo, then with contrast and sharpening.

In the past I have also tried the Nikon D800 and has an excellent performance, however, as retail - with optical top - the 5Ds is better, even if the difference is not huge. Certainly no worse :-) Unfortunately I have not been able to compare side by side, but why do you refer to the test of Dpreview:

www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison?attr18=daylight&attr13_0

A small excerpt:

Having to comment on the crop,
I can only tell you that if that is the quality viewing 100% sharp focus a portion of a frame
So probably I do not see on my monitor what you see on your.
(... Could be because with this story of the RETINA often something not quite right ...)
That's all. ;-)

However we should bring back the 50MP to 36MP (or vice versa) to make a proper comparison.
In fact looking at the figures scrolling Dpreview .... there seems no big difference.

Well ...
then I'm happy for you canonists, now you too have your SLR yield like medioformato. 8-)

But you should report the 50MP to 36MP (or vice versa) to make a proper comparison.

In my magnifying the higher resolution can be seen better the differences :-) But I agree that the difference is not huge as you might think 36 vs 50 MP, certainly the D800 / D810 has a sensor and especially good 'engraved' ( thanks to the total absence of the AA filter, that it is present on 5Ds and, in a less invasive, also on 5Ds R).

For the rest, I assure you that personally I do not cheer for any brand (currently shooting with Sony, even if I feel a little bit of everything).

But it myself.
I stopped to cheer for someone.
The D800 I sold it to a sweet girl padovana that takes pictures of fashion.
Now I take pictures only with Fuji XT1. ;-)

Interesting test, the technology gets better and ... it says no "claim" art, but I like this part of the landscape, congratulations! Where is this beautiful place?

For panoramic landscapes and large cities there is also a well put Sigma SD1 with Article 35 of all bodies to have no differences ;-)

Neither do I see much detail in the cottage, quoto I-Felix.

Juza, a comparison with the d810 would be perfect ;-)

From my monitor the photos in "normal" I see sharper, better, wow! Razor sharp. But what does not convince me at all, it is when I look in HD format: fconfuso: ... with a sensor of that scale (risolvenza) should indeed be (not just theoretically) even clearer, however I find it's much worse : fconfuso: very much. Or the goal does not meet the very high demands of the sensor, or something just does not come back, overall, in this exasperated crowd of Pixell. If I remember correctly the FF now we are almost exactly double the theoretical Pixell a film Diawow !. -
Or am I not to have understood the secret report on the "resolution-definition-sharpness" of a photo provided by pairing sensor + lens, or, I do not know ... if Juza or others could risolvermiquest "enigma" 8-), I would like very ;-).
Thanks hello, G.Piero

The photo is taken from Castell'Arquato, here: www.juzaphoto.com/destinazioni.php?d=castell_arquato&l=it

From my monitor the photos in "normal" I see sharper, better, eeeek !!! razor sharp. But what does not convince me at all, it is when I look in HD

the photo at full resolution will be less sharp than resized, this applies to any camera, resizing web format photos are 'perfect' while 100% sharpness is always slightly less (but of course there is more detail because the photo is much larger)

I do see a lot of differences in the photos of the 5D laws easily in the rows of the D810 disappear in a mass of colored pixels.

Because you're a canonist .... and I am a former Nikonist.
We are both slightly misled by reasons "heart" !!! -D
