Cupido argiades (Pallas, 1771) Dimensioni: Apertura alare: 25 ? 30 mm Descrizione della specie: parte superiore delle ali con colore di fondo blu violetto con bordi marginali più scuri. Corte code nere sulle ali posteriori con la punta bianca. Parte inferiore delle ali con colore di fondo grigio chiaro. Parte inferiore delle ali posteriori con due macchie postdiscali arancioni. Dimorfismo sessuale: parte superiore delle ali delle femmine con colore di fondo blu violetto con ampi margini più scuri, soprattutto sulle ali anteriori. Stadi giovanili: le larve sono verde chiaro con una striscia scura sulla schiena e con le striature più scure sui fianchi, con alcune macchie marroni e bianche. Le larve possono avere abitudini cannibali. La crisalide è dello stesso colore della larva oppure più scura con macchie chiare.? Piante nutrici del bruco: Lotus spp., Coronilla varia, Medicago sativa, Trifolium pratense, Astragalus glycyphyllos. Distribuzione e habitat: Europa centrale fino all'Asia. Vola in prati con ?ori, margini erbosi di strade, e radure dei boschi dal piano basale a quello montano Periodo di attività: bivoltina, maggio ed agosto - settembre in due generazioni annue, è possibile una terza generazione, scarsa e incostante
