modella Donutella, Olympus pen, luce faretto VILLA DEL BENE, VERONA: Sorge lungo l'antica strada Tridentina, a pochi metri dal fiume Adige, al quale è collegata da un viale, un tempo alberato. La famiglia Del Bene, originaria di Rovereto, acquisì beni a Volargne a partire dal 1538. Nel 1551, data incisa sul portale d'ingresso, la villa dovette essere conclusa nelle sue forme attuali. La pianta dell'edificio, a due piani, unisce due tipi di planimetria: quella "veneziana", imperniata su un salone centrale su cui si aprono le stanze laterali (derivata dal preesistente edificio quattrocentesco), e quella "a portico e loggia", diffusissima in Valpolicella. Un vasto ciclo di affreschi cinquecenteschi (con episodi dell'Apocalisse, inquadrati da Sibille, storie di Davide, Giuditta e Giuseppe e altre storie dalla Bibbia) decora la scala, la loggia sopra il portico, il salone e alcune stanze al piano nobile dell'edificio. Autori ne sono i più illustri artisti attivi a Verona alla metà del Cinquecento: Giovan Francesco e Giovanni Caroto, Domenico Brusasorzi, Bernardino India e Nicola Crollalanza. Acquisita dallo Stato nel 1956, sottoposta a vari interventi di restauro, la villa è oggi aperta al pubblico.
