Diby, often described as a powerful guardian, is associated with protecting the village from danger and hostile forces. Kalegbin is linked to protection against illness, harmful magic and misfortune, and is also connected to requests for rain and fertility. These huts stand out for their imposing size and their thick conical thatched roofs, which become larger over time because new layers of straw are added regularly rather than being completely replaced. This gradual growth gives the buildings a distinctive monumental appearance and reflects the idea of long lasting spiritual strength.
