Un cartello invita ad una crociera per il crocodile jumping sull'Adelaide River. Con dei pezzi di carne attaccati ad un bastone, fanno fare dei salti ai coccodrilli accanto all'imbarcazione. Normalmente non partecipo alle attività che prevedono feeding, ma qui la cosa è gestita abbastanza bene per non impattare con la natura selvaggia dei coccodrilli. La licenza dovrebbero averla solo tre operatori. L'ho anche letta perchè era affissa all'imbarcadero. Inoltre ho visto come agiscono, o almeno come ha agito l'operatore con cui sono andato: Adelaide River Cruises (45AUD). Ai più piccoli quasi sempre fanno in modo di non lasciare il boccone, ovviamente a meno che il cocco non sia più veloce. Ogni coccodrillo prende solo un boccone ed anche moltiplicandolo per le 5-6 crociere giornaliere, certamente si resta distanti dal fabbisogno. I coccodrilli inoltre non si radunano attendendo il facile pasto, ma vengono cercati spostandosi con la barca ed anche questo fa pensare ad una assenza di dipendenza. Il salto fuori dall'acqua è poi assolutamente naturale dato che è proprio il loro modo di cacciare. Diciamo quindi che la cosa ha delle attenuanti. Lo spettacolo è francamente notevole. Normalmente nelle crociere i coccodrilli si vedono o fermi sulla riva, o a pelo d'acqua con gli occhi ed un po' di muso. Qui è un'altra storia. E' impressionante vedere questi bestioni saltare fuori accanto alla barca e superarla in altezza restando ancora per metà in acqua.
