Grazie ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ La costruzione della Chiesa di Santa Margherita V.M. venne avviata nel 1783 e conclusa nel 1791 sotto la spinta promotrice del Prevosto Francesco Maria Zanenga. La ricostruzione della Parrocchiale, che insisteva sullo stesso luogo, si rese necessaria per due ordini di motivi: lo stato di fatiscenza avanzata, e l'incapacità della Chiesa in rapporto alla crescente popolazione. Ignota è la ragione che ha indotto a scegliere come progettista della Parrocchiale un Architetto di chiara fama come Felice Soave. Suo è il disegno per la facciata del Duomo di Milano, più tardi realizzato dall'Amati. Nato a Lugano nel 1749, il Soave si era formato presso l'Accademia di Parma, dove il Francese Petitot insegnava, gettando i primi fondamenti del Neoclassicismo Lombardo. Comunque, poco importano i motivi della scelta del Soave, ciò che conta è che la Comunità pandinese possa vantare uno dei primi esempi di Neoclassicismo Lombardo. L'ispirazione Neoclassica guarda ai classici antichi mediati dalle esperienze cinque-secentesche del Palladio e del Vignola, di cui la facciata di Santa Margherita è la sintesi. Come appare da una lapide marmorea interna, situata nella controfacciata, la chiesa è stata consacrata il 22 ottobre 1871 dal vescovo di Casale Monferrato Pietro M. Ferrè, essendo parroco don Giovanni Battista Franzosio. La facciata, ispirata al Pantheon, trova la sua armonia nelle otto imponenti semicolonne di ordine gigante con capitelli corinzi, sormontate da un frontone timpanato. Seguendo la lezione del Palladio, viene però eliminato il portico, il cui disegno rimane a scandire il ritmo di facciata. Si passa quindi dal tridimensionale al bidimensionale.
