Posso dire "Io c'ero" !

In these men that time has transformed since that time we see the meaning of life and its path.
History and paper books help us understand if we want that time when words no longer mattered among the various protagonists of the world stage.
History is important
Even a photograph is

Cordially a greeting
Patrick

Nice shot dear Fabio is right to honor these people, but I wonder our "peace" of 75 years....how many deaths has it done all over the world to allow us not to live the war as instead they had this unfortunate generation and that before that?
Excuse me dear friend, it does not want to be a criticism of you or certain ceremonies that must surely be remembered, but we must be sure that still many in the world suffer....also for and above all the fault of the "civilized" countries, because large multinationals exploit the subsoil of poor countries, impoverishing them even more.
We can't call this peace :-/
Excuse me again, I know that your intention in posting this document is noble, as noble is your soul ;-)
A hug
Pierpaolo :-)

but I have a doubt: what would become of our society if it had been divided and governed by Nazism and Communism?

Dear Fabio, my friend, far from me the thought that it would be a better world with these two powers to divide the planet :-o I say only that certain powers first subsidized Hitler and then subsidized the opposite side and those who put us back are always the poor who with the dream of defending the homeland have given us back the best years of life....or life itself.
And there is no country that deserves the death in war of its children, neither on the one hand nor on the other.
A big hug
Pierpaolo ;-)

Dear Pierpaolo I fully agree that not a single human life should be sacrificed on the battlefields and not only, they are for pacifism and where this fails to affect, they are for the diplomatic solution, but when for one reason or another we manage to create monstrosities, history teaches us, the bills to pay for humanity are very high.
So we hope that yours, mine and that of many people, way of looking at the world, which unfortunately is not majority, will spread into a virtuous circle and that it does not remain pure utopia !
I'll hug you
Fabio :-P

Also to me come the shiny eyes, stories of dedication and sacrifice that strike you in the depths and that same wind that so many years ago lashed those shores carrying with them so many voices of thousands of boys. A beautiful image Fabio, full of strong emotions and hope, enriched by the heartfelt presentation, delicate and written with light and respectful words. Congratulations. A warm greeting Barbara.
