Khamsin La IX piaga d'Egitto - Come profetizzato da Mosè al Faraone, al termine di questo giorno caleranno le tenebre… Secondo la scienza la IX piaga biblica inflitta al popolo d'Egitto potrebbe essere attribuita ad un fenomeno naturale, ovvero il totale oscuramento dovuto ad una tempesta di sabbia. Uno dei venti più caratteristici del deserto del Sahara che può provocare tale fenomeno è il Khamsin ( il cui significato in lingua Araba è 50) tempeste di sabbia proveniente da sud – sud est che possono protrarsi fino a 50 giorni, ma agendo con forza soltanto per cinque o sei. Le condizioni avverse e spettacolari che si sono manifestate in quei giorni nel sud dell'isola di Fuerteventura, le ho percepite come se madre natura volesse infliggere una piaga! venti con raffiche fino a 70km/h, costanti, dove in certi momenti era pure difficile stare in piedi, alzavano sabbia ovunque, creando lingue di sabbia che serpeggiando in velocità sull'intera battigia, come un'entità intenta ad inglobare tutto ciò che vi era attorno.. ..mentre la notte sopraggiungeva.. Curiosità: Exodus - Dei e Re (Exodus – Gods and Kings) è un film realizzato nel 2014 alcune scene delle quali girate proprio su questa spiaggia. Diretto da Ridley Scott su sceneggiatura di Steven Zaillian, tratta l'argomento delle 10 piaghe e l'intero evento biblico dell'esodo del popolo Ebraico guidato da Mosè.
