E' proprio così anche se il termine downhill della MTB lo assocerei più allo sci da discesa. Infatti chi fa quel genere di attività sale con gli impianti o con furgoni ed ha un tipo di MTB costruita espressamente per la discesa e quindi non adatta ad essere pedalata in salita.
La nostra disciplina invece si definisce ALL MOUNTAIN o CICLOALPINISMO e prevede appunto che la salita si conquisti con le proprie forze, sia pedalando che portando la bici in spalla su per quei sentieri che non è possibile percorrere in sella. Un volta in cima poi la sfida è riuscire a percorrere in discesa anche i sentieri meno "potabili", un pò appunto come sciare fuori pista. E come con gli sci quando si va in cerca della powder le la si trova lo stesso è quando si trova il sentiero giusto, selvatico, impegnativo ma bellissimo...Ecco in questo è proprio come lo sci-alpinismo...CREA DIPENDENZA, ed infatti questo anno di forzata inattività mi ha letteralmente mandato il cervello in burn-out...ma ora manca poco, al 26 mi opereranno al ginocchio e poi sarà "tutta discesa" fino a rimettermi in sella !!!
