"..... Finally, the Wolf" sent on October 22, 2012 (19:38) by Giordano Giacomini. 91 comments, 9463 views.

, 1/400 f/8.0, ISO 250, tripod.

So much envy! The trigger is very nice and well done, as well as being a nice document on the population of wolves in the area.
Although I come from, in the Veronese, is reported in Lessinia a pair of wolves ... spot them would be a dream (even with a bit of stage fright!), photograph would be great! Again congratulations

Riki

7 '(icrocio between wolf and dog).
Do not you notice some phenotypic traits '' typical '' of the mantle of the Apennine wolf that is the presence of black stripes on the front legs and a face mask evident; the physical structure of the face and neck does not convince me ... has something canine .
To get an idea (I just formatted the pc and I have all the pictures lupine on external hard drives), try typing Apennine wolf on google and view photos of wikipedia and you will realize what I'm saying.
Anyway ... if it was a hybrid, your capture would be even more important as the hybridization in Italy is '' only '' for 2-5% of the wolf population!
And so congratulations to catch (among others I own and use your own atrezzatura in daytime)
greetings
erreotto

I allow myself to instillarti some doubt.
And I do it because for years studying wolves with both the camera traps that through genetics noninvasive.
The picture is distorted by the state '' health '' of the animal: the ear '' crumpled '' could be the result of bites or pre-existing conditions (eg, otitis, ETCC) while the unusual aspect of the hair may indicate that the photographed subject has had to deal with important dermatitis (eg scabies).
And also on the age of the animal can only hazard a bet ... seems a subject very old but it could also be a shadow RAM young dispersed very unfortunate in terms of '' health ''.
It 'a wolf?
I have serious doubts if I had to catalog it and put it as the first '' option '' to sayture '' hybrid '' (icrocio between wolf and dog).
