Costruita tra il 1573 e il 1577, questa cattedrale contiene due capolavori di Caravaggio. La Concattedrale di San Giovanni è un tesoro di arte e architettura barocca. Fu costruita come chiesa conventuale per i Cavalieri di San Giovanni. Questa chiesa è ancora oggi un importante santuario e un luogo sacro di culto. La costruzione fu commissionata nel 1572 dal Gran Maestro Jean de la Cassière come chiesa conventuale dei Cavalieri di Malta e progettata dall'architetto militare maltese Gerolamo Cassar. La chiesa era dedicata a San Giovanni Battista, patrono dell'Ordine.
