Soggetti : Mainly ancient Bristlecone pine trees (Pinus longaeva, Pinus aristata, Pinus balfouriana), some of which reaching 5000 years in age and famous for being among the oldest living organisms on Earth. Individual trees offer unique chances of shooting organic structures, with the white shiny spiky branches being the kings of the spot.
Attrezzatura necessaria : Any wide lens would do the trick, a tripod is advised, though not essential.
Periodo : Any day of the year would be great, the climate is rather stable.
Come arrivare : By car in roughly 1h from Bishop via the US-395. From Las Vegas, 4h of driving through the US-95. Buses are likely to depart closer to the sight.
Visite : There is a fee to pay, as in other US National Parks. The fee-box is located at the round-about. The price is less than 10 dollars per each person, remember to get some coins because in some periods of the year there is no chance to get the change.There are a few tracks and loops to walk, the full visit takes roughly 4h with shooting. For peoples not willing to walk some hours under the burning sun, some beautiful, gigantic trees are anyway located close to the entrance.
