Pros: Sharpness, AF, Brightness, Construction/Solidity, Compact, Bokeh

Cons: Large lens hood, weight

Opinion: Taken as an alternative to the usual 35mm and to detach myself more from the 50mm. Really good AF and sharpness! Slightly bulky lens hood. 77m filter not too expensive. Good weight/size ratio but if it had been slimmer it would have been better (but you know how it works with Art). Great bokeh, despite being a 28mm! It costs relatively little based on what it offers.

Pros: Construction, fluid rings

Cons: Weight and overall dimensions

Opinion: I have always used the 35mm, I bought this 28 mm that I use it as an all-rounder, the focal length I do not mind and does not make me regret the 35mm. Apart from the weight and bulk it is a lens that deserves a lot, minimal distortion but on the other hand it releases you a very nice and sharp file from f / 1.8 onwards. I mounted it on Sony A7III and I have no back and front focus problems. Having also had the Sony 35 f/1.8 this Sigma has slightly warmer colors.

Pros: Sharpness, Construction, Hood included and 77mm filters

Cons: AF from Tarare, Weight?

Opinion: I purchased this lens to have a wide angle to use for photos at night. Unfortunately as soon as I arrived I noticed that it suffered from back focus and therefore I was forced to buy the Sigma dock for AF calibration. The procedure is quite simple and does not take much time. Once finished the lens seemed reborn: Nitidissimo already at full aperture becomes sharp as a razor already at f / 1.8; At very open apertures the gap between subject and background is very hard but starting from f / 2.4 tends to soften a lot. On the 7DII I do not know full-aperture vignetting but it is definitely due to the APS-C sensor, I will evaluate on Full Frame how it behaves in the future. Using it in the evening demonstrates all its optical quality (I recommend it to those who take pictures of the Milky Way, star trail etc ...). I do not consider the weight a malus: I used it for whole days both mounted on the car and at the end of the day I did not feel tired. For someone else, weight might be a factor to consider. I would give 10 if it weren't for the fact that I had to calibrate the AF but you know, with Sigma, it's something that happens often. Rating 9

Pros: Solid mechanical construction, fluid rings, lampshed with release button. Excellent sharpness all over the frame at all diaphragms, practically neutral chromatism, very low geometric deformation, extremely precise and reliable AF.

Cons: Significant footprint and weight, full-opening vignetting.

Opinion: Used on the D4 and D 810, AF did not need calibrations, precise and reliable all the time. Vignette quite open, but it resolves with a click in photo editing, and it is always sharp, at full opening in the center it is a less sharp hair than the Sigma 35 mm F 1.4 Art, but it is a sharper hair at the edges, in practice they are the same. I've been shaving it on the anti-glare treatment seal, as I do with all the optics, and that's pretty good, it does a little bit more reflections than the 35mm F 1.4 Art, but very little. It's a bulky, weighty lens, but it works very well.
