Pros: Robust, Reliable, Raw well processable, Reliable AF

Cons: High ISO over ISO 1600, Resolution

Opinion: Here is the old lady, vintage FF who... Photograph again! I recently replaced it with a D850, the purpose of this review of mine is to make it clear to those who perhaps have budget limits or want to look out at the FF world without fainting that this camera, even with all the distinctions that I have listed in the pros and cons, is still a camera that photographs and well, it can be an excellent "training ship" if purchased at reasonable prices for neophyte, Why not, for young people who want to learn, the body is "pro" and therefore has all those features that decreed its absolute success both in 2008 and in the 5/6 years to follow. To date it certainly loses the comparison with more recent cameras, but its 12 MP are still sufficient, its iso hold is still decent up to iso 1600 in my opinion, it has a very reliable autofocus module and enough to bring home the loaf in many situations, its files are still well workable on the computer, in my experience it has no problems with heat or cold, and after 60k shots I can say that I have never had a problem, At the right price I would buy it again to make the leap into the FF

Pros: Makes beautiful photos

Cons: The weight compared to a mirrorless

Opinion: The d700 is a camera with a core and the sensor has something special. It has the great advantage of digesting any optics and knows how to pull something out of even the cheapest lenses. Elaborating landscapes and sunsets on Lightroom is pure poetry, it seems to brush a canvas. With AI-S lenses it is sensational and its 12MP in the age of social media are enough and advance. Yes, it is not small, but at least you know that you are holding the body of a real camera and looking at a mirror in an era where we are already enough in front of the displays. Practically infinite battery, with two batteries I made a two-week trip to Mexico without a charger. I came to the conclusion that the winning combination for an amateur photographer / hobbyist like me is a beautiful full frame SLR with mirror (now in the price of the used are little found both this and the d600, another great camera that I recommend) and a new generation mobile phone (from 2020 onwards), I in addition also have an analog pentax as icing on the cake. Take it and try it out of courtesy

Pros: My first FF, great sensor, great files also in JPEG.

Cons: An FF of other times now, but it still works great.

Opinion: Purchased new in 2010, my first FF, I immediately found it fantastic, it was exactly what it did for me, having already a large amount of Nikon, AF, AFD and AI optics was perfect, sharp, complete and with a sensor that gives colors that in landscapes are still beautiful today, great battery, it grips rather well and for those who come from Nikon everything is intuitive. Defects? In some ways it is outdated, but if you have to take pictures think and you do not have to freeze the MILLENNIUM FALCON that passes you next to tablet is still excellent. I still use it with satisfaction, every now and then I have it cleaned and calibrated and she goes! VOTE 9.

Pros: Tropicalization, eternal shutter, construction, soft and workable files

Cons: Lack of tightness at high ISO, 8fps obtainable only with battery pack, heaviness

Opinion: Repurchased in 2022 only to have a "vintage" SLR in my kit now composed only of mirrorless, I consider this machine not a full frame but LA full frame. All the advantages of a D3 in a relatively lighter camera body. I divide my personal review into 3 parts: Pros, defects, neutrality. ADVANTAGES Well, tropicalization allows you to have a camera body that, in situations of small rains or bad weather in general, during ceremonies or outdoor situations, you are not there to think, and now? The car gets wet, what can I do?, misery and "All the saints in the air". You don't care, stop, go ahead and work, so in your hands you don't have a car but a tank. Eternal shutter, with a classic sound that looks more like a shot than a shot (which I think is very cool) mine has 47k shots, they give it for 150k shots, but I have seen models of colleagues who take wild photos in extreme situations with more than 200k shots continuing quietly to use it as if there were no tomorrow waiting for the shutter to give way (but at this point it is more likely that they give in). I state that I shoot only in raw and after 14 years still pulls out soft and workable files with lightroom, full of information being able to still make the world. The controls are all at your fingertips, without frills and above all without getting lost in the meanders of the classic nikon menus that are sometimes complicated (something I found in the younger sister D750). If you do ceremonies or study it continues to be a perfect machine still bringing work home without any problem. DEFECTS: If you want a machine with high ISO seal forget ... holds maximum to 3200 after which you will have to play a lot of luminance to the detriment, unfortunately, of the annoying painted effect that comes out, therefore, equip yourself with luminous lenses otherwise you can have serious problems. I mainly do sports photography for basketball and football teams and in such situations 5fps are very few; can also get 8fps but only with battery pack MB D10 even if there are various tutorials scattered around the network that allow you to reach 9fps without battery pack going to set specific functions on the function keys (I have never done it because these keys are set for other functions for me fundamental, therefore, In sports photography I work with battery pack. Working with the latter, the weight increases further: body, battery pack and 70 200 to f2.8 returned home practically destroyed and this thing is deleterious! Its heaviness is a very negative point. NEUTRALITY 'In this section I state some points for me neutral (the classic "who cares") that for you could be negative points: Sensor at 12Mpx ... Guys, we are talking about a machine from 14 years ago, unless you want to crop endlessly or print the mega posters size elephant who cares, they are fine anyway and the quality is excellent. Lack of video side... Guys this is not a video camera, it is a camera so it does not make videos but photos. If I wanted to make videos today I certainly would not do them with a Nikon D700, but not even with a D750, I would do them with a sony A7III getting a superlative quality to work, and if I had to make a video "a priscio" for social media, I repeat, certainly I do not do it with the D700, but even with the D750 but I do it with my smartphone so "WHO CARES?". Conclusions: they are now used at very affordable prices, if you need a second spare body buy it, if you need to gain experience in the photographic field and you do not have a big budget, buy it, you will have LA full frame often at the lower cost of entry level aps-c that will make you shoot like dogs, without "being able to dare" and that pull out embarrassing files even for the god of lightroom

Pros: Tropicalization, robust, shutter, quality,

Cons: Autofocus a little slow, iso hold, weight,

Opinion: I tried this camera some time ago is really good but you could see the signs of age especially when you shoot over a thousand Iso if it is used in situations where you need high iso, instead using it in the studio or in any case in professional situations with good light the quality is Top. In fact, for me the real upgrade was with the D780. Shooting in Raw with the D700 the files were not always rich in information according to my needs, however already excellent quality it was enough to work it little and it would have been perfect This is because modern sensors contain Raw files with more information but need more processing and attention, however the 12mpx reduced the problem making this machine exceptional with a respectable quality indeed better than certain machines even modern mirrorless. I had recent post production programs so I could not open the file I had to use an old program and this is also one of the reasons why I decided to change it. Now I own D780 and D850 I also had the D750 the real transition was as already mentioned with the D780. The D700 will remain a very good machine, also because the shutter is infinite. Unfortunately, technology goes on!

Pros: 12 mpx, solidity, ergonomics, general image rendering, ease of use, reliability.

Cons: 12 mpx (can also be a con), white calibration in low light (defect shared with other models)

Opinion: I then had it resold, then bought back... and exchanged. She is a lady machine but bears some signs of age. Let's say that wanting to stay on the 12 mpx today you find the d3 / d3s at prices so low that honestly having those - or deciding to buy them - keep a d700 makes sense only for weight issues (even if she does not weigh little is always more "light" than a d3 / 3s / 3x). Honestly today in my opinion it is a machine that is always useful and absolutely reliable, without frills and perfectly suitable for some specific uses, even professional. I exchanged it for a rather kilometerd d810 just to have a more modern body for the landscape, for the rest I keep the d3. Taken alone, the d700 are beautiful cars, compared with other, even contemporary, some limits shine through. For me the AF is sometimes uncertain (compared to the d3), ditto the exposure of the old 1005-point module calibrated on this model. Obviously the viewfinder and pentaprism of the d700 do not stand comparison with that of the d3, there is considerable difference. It will be the case of the specimens that I had but the front-back focus of the lens/body complex is more relevant than with the d3, talking about the same lenses; it may be that the d3 have more stringent construction standards with regard to the grafts. Having had - and resold - even the d800 I can say that the differences are not only in the mpx.. more modern machines in my opinion make raw files with more information and this is an aspect that for some uses can be decisive. 12 mpx are great for everything, only if you want / need to crop you need something more. But they are details... . Needless to talk about the performance at high Iso, obviously it does better than many DX but the technology is over 10 years old so... In summary it is a lady machine, without frills, pleasant to use for those who love the traditional manual skill of Nikon camera controls.

Pros: robustness, reliability

Cons: Contact cover rubbers tend to detach with time

Opinion: I used this machine for 7 years, at an amateur level, coming from D200. Impeccable build quality and image, for what they are able to appreciate at the level of the amateur. I have always used it in RAW mode so I do not express evaluations regarding the quality of the processed output. Usable, in my opinion, up to 800/1,600 ISO; going further, the noise stands out and, personally, if I am forced to use higher sensitivities I use the B / W as I can reduce the noise more effectively. I replaced it, with D800, only because - presumably as a result of moisture ingress after an intense rain - it began to manifest malfunctions apparently of an electronic nature (very fast battery consumption, flash not working, constant flashing of the LED access to the CF card, sporadic gross overexposure). I'm so fond of it and I've felt so good about it that I'm still considering an attempt at repair to keep it as a spare car. I give you a grade of 9.9; I avoid the 10 only because, given my not so vast experience on the use of other bodies, I keep a margin for any better experiences ... but it will be difficult!

Pros: Reliability and robustness; full frame (resulting in image quality benefits) at relatively low cost

Cons: The flagship has the weight, but not the physique

Opinion: Everything to say about this camera has been said... what else to add in 2021 ?. In my opinion the functionality is excellent, devoid of video and a whole series of functions (hdr on camera, etc ..) of which the following models have been "full". Conversely, it represents the point of arrival of that philosophy that Nikon has developed on analog SLR cameras and that has had its maximum expression with the f100. The baked file is photorealistic and soft. Probably the portrait his ideal scope.

Pros: all

Cons: Weight and bulkiness

Opinion: Still in 2021 my best photos come out to me with the d700 that I love paired with a 35mm PRO. Despite having top-of-the-range DSLR and Mirrorless cameras and very modern... I will be crazy but I still prefer the d700 and its fantastic sensor. Already I am not a lover of intensive post-production, but with this machine I can do practically very little post and for secondary aspects only. For me it is a myth this "old" camera along with the d3s (or x).

Pros: exposure meter that didn't miss a beat, great RAW files

Cons: Autofocus a bit slow

Opinion: Excellent REFLEX, my first full frame, I took many shots and accompanied me on several trips. I remember a day in the mountains, a whole day under the snow and she always ready to shoot... Excellent ergonomics and balanced. The viewfinder is great as well as the easy to manage and complete menu. Good battery life Now super machine.. super outdated

Pros: Construction quality, ergonomics, tropicalization. In his hand he transmits safety and solidity.

Cons: No one, apart from the lack of "modernity" (but it is a body with over 15 years on its shoulders, it stands there).

Opinion: Purchased used, in good condition, with about 30k shots. I entered the FF world and was ecstatic about it. For the quality of the files, even if small, for the shades, for the range of soft colors. In my opinion, even if it is 2021, she is the "mother" to keep for every occasion. Always churn out the "good" photo! In the market it is still used at about 400 euros, a bargain for those who want to enter the FF world.

Pros: The camera par excellence, superlative files, robust, reliable, professional

Cons: I did not find any defect except on the af in mode C, more studio, but always impeccable in the shot

Opinion: I took a used D700 that had about 7000 shots , it was practically new. Maybe it had been purchased on a whim and then set aside, but I really needed it if I wanted to make quality photo shoots, and by quality I mean more demanding customers, corporate, corporate events, environmental portraits, but above all the press. The Dx certainly did not allow exceptional printing, the Full frame instead produces files of another quality. It sounds trivial but the D700 allowed me to hook customers that I certainly could not reach with the Dx before, although I use it very little because I also have another very competitive camera the D300. Using these two cameras together is the top, the D700 with professional lenses is superlative, and allows you to take photos by raising the Isos without too much noise. Perhaps precisely for this reason it is the most used camera for weddings and ceremonies where you have to shoot often without flash, the D700 is undoubtedly the camera of the real professional, as his sister Dx the D300 has a sturdy dress and all the controls in the right place. I had dreamed of it for a long time and when I started using it I realized that I had reached the highest level. Funny that all my photos taken with this camera can not be published anywhere, since they are for Company, Private and for internal use. If you find it in good condition with a few shots do not miss it, buy it if you are able to use it and you still have a pro consumer, the D700 is worth all the money spent to buy it.

Pros: Excellent files,reliability,robustness,infinite shutter life

Cons: You have to use the right focal points in recovery because croppare (even if I do) with 12 mpx is like pulling his neck a little bit

Opinion: I've had six... sold and filmed because I verified that there was little better. I still use it to do everything and I have to say that I manage the files better than the d800e, leaner and of equal quality files when used on the web, if printed you get to 50x70 without feeling differences with the 36mpx ... so if you have it and love to take real photography, hold it tight without caring about the fashions of the moment.

Pros: robustness, file quality, reliability, dream photo rendering

Cons: a little heavy, 95% coverage viewfinder

Opinion: it's a great machine with a really crazy sensor. if you shoot in raw and like to do then postproduction you have a recovery of shadows and scary lights. The keys are comfortable and intuitive. When you hold it in your hand you feel a great machine. You can mount nikon vintage lenses that historically are valuable optics. The sensor is balanced for the lenses on the market so at the quality level you can not get better unless you take a d800 with a 1500 euro lens:) . the colors are pasty and not too contrasted that make the photo more unique and picturesque, not from "fashion cover" (unless you have to do the XD one). Jpegs are also not bad and I also uploaded all the profiles of the old films such as agfa, fuji velvia, kodak gold to reproduce that vintage look when I do not want to do post production for all the photos (holiday cases). it's a great car and it lasts you a lot... the iso seal is up to 1600 good.. but I mean if you have to push it to those iso values it means you're using kaiser lenses or shooting in the dark XD

Pros: Clean files, perfect in the studio, indestructible, low prices in the used, immediate feeling, I love it

Cons: One cf slot, live unusable

Opinion: The lady is immortal, the link between analog and digital, she still knows how to give the pleasure of the shot with its unmistakable noise. I used it in every field, from fashion to theater (outdoors, in a closed theater they kick you out for noise) from sports (show) to pure portraiture, in the studio makes the most of it. A FF machine at derisory prices, an infallible companion with light rows, obviously gives way on some fronts to modern girls from 45 mp, but not only does it with dignity but sometimes teasing them ... watch a shot with the lady and then one of the new little girls ... the charm is still his. If you are at the beginning and want a FF take it, if you are not at the beginning and you do not have to take billboards, take it, if you feel like eyes tracking and last amenities, leave it alone, she is for refined palates.

Pros: ductility and many have chosen it for its compactness, now they find themselves at very low prices highly recommended for those who start to get serious with nikon

Cons: I don't think there are except the files that turn out to work the software a little dated but the sensor recovers a lot on raw files

Opinion: great machine body takes for a short time very valid and if you have patience in post production you can pull out excellent things matches well with the optics of the indestructible D series and an excellent good compromise between file size and you use for everything was created, unfortunately for Nikon, too similar to the D3 ..... even today for portraits it turns out very good

Pros: Robust and indestructible, bright optical viewfinder still excellent today

Cons: a little bit heavy a single scyth of memory.

Opinion: Now I have been using it for about a year, very strong body, I have side by side with my d300s that I have for many hanni and together I am a perfect kit, as long as I have a good back because they both weigh. it is indestructible a real tank with all the buttons in the right place and very ergonomic (especially for me who have large hands) works well with almost all nikon optics (even with older ones you have autofocus because it has an internal motor) tropicalized body and infinite autonomy (with original batter). The files are spectacularly sharp and . , lightweight (with a 32 gb CF you take about a thousand shots in raw and jpeg) held to iso excellent up to about 2000 ISOs good up to 3200 and workable with adequate software up to maximum ISO capacity. In short, I think it is one of the best FF without compromise even today, the song of the nikon home swan that after churning out only small updates but fundamentally the d700 remains the Full Frame par excellence. Today they are too pumped with useless electronics just to sell themselves better. I forgot: Very bright professional optical viewfinder.

Pros: Definition, controls, handle

Cons: If I really need to find one: in photo view, you use one command to scroll through them, but if the photo is zoomed in, you need to use another one to scroll through the photos. (nonsense anyway). Shooting noise (noisier than the D7100)

Opinion: I'm a simple fan, not a professional. For two months I moved to the D700 after 4 years of D7100, with which I took 37 thousand shots (in turn after 3 years of D3100). The difference can be seen. Definition, focus, image cleaning, color body. On the D7100 I had the Sigma 17-50 2.8, great, but with some front/back focus problems. Now, the D700 is paired with a spectacular, spectacular Sigma 24-105 F4 art, a sniper. D700 purchased at 450 euros, from a private in Germany, with 28 thousand shots, in excellent condition, including original battery grip and five original batteries! Space machine. Of the twelve megapixels you don't notice, especially when the zoom reaches 105mm. In light conditions, I also had to work at ISO 4000, working everything in posts with lightrooms, with spectacular results. Absolutely satisfied!

Pros: Build quality, aesthetics, beautiful files

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I also find myself commenting on this milestone of photography. I've owned a lot of modern SLRs. Arriving at the Nikon d810 I stopped. I also went through Mirrorless I owned Sony (ff) and Fuji (apsc). It makes me smile that someone comments the video part of any Reflex. I've always thought of it as a honestly. No one makes videos with Reflex machines... so for me the function should be really inhibited (I have seen comparisons between iphone and Red to make pale.. red...). Y with this necessary premise, I, like some of you, found myself buying it for a second time. Taken sold and re-bought. I shoot mainly in analog (Pentax 67 and 645, Hasselblad 500cm) and this is the machine that comes closest to that concept. The sensor was very successful. The colors are mind-blowing. The iso... boh it will be that I reason as if I had a film... I keep them down as much as I can. If it is a static subject easel and I extend the exposure. Otherwise I try to illuminate if possible... It's a beautiful car aesthetically, really beautiful. Bright viewfinder, lightning autofocus, beautiful files. I currently have a 24-70 f2.8 Tamron attached to her. Perfect eh... but as soon as I can I take a 35mm so I also use it with the Fe2. Take it if you take pictures, if you have a concept of real photography. Whose only taste is to find a beautiful photo to do without having to exceed in the crop (better frame or look for a zoom if anything). It's a camera! You won't find (at least I haven't found it yet) a car that takes better photos than this... for concept, colors, sensor density etc... If you have to make videos, taking an iphone from the 11th onwards are unbeatable... If you make videos professionally you will hardly ever get a REFLEX... that's why I often smile at those who put it as a pro/con... Grade 10/10

Pros: Construction, files, materials, everything speaks of quality

Cons: Iso minimums at 200, it's not a feather and it's certainly not in a pocket

Opinion: A "forever" camera, handling it is a pleasure, the photos produced excellent, with a 12-megapixel sensor that look nice comfortable on the full frame format. It is used at low prices, to buy because it is a classic to keep even as a monument :-), I think in fact I will never give it up. Fun to use with any lens in the story Nikon F attack (from Ai onwards). It does almost nothing of modern things: no videos, no immediate sharing with the smartphone, the photographs do them, however, many and easily good. It weighs like a nice brick and stands out for the size and ta-clack of the shot, it's not good for the so-called "stolen" photos, when you look up and shoot it's like saying aloud "look I'm shooting" but if I were to be parachuted into the middle of a cataclysm it's the camera I'd choose

Pros: Gorgeous camera. Excellent file quality, high iso usable, very robust, good focus, excellent burst with grip. Very good is the duration of the stack.

Cons: Very few downsides. Remarkable weight with grip.

Opinion: It's a really good camera and you can buy used it at a definitely low price , in fact nowadays on the used there is a fabulous choice. The quality you get is remarkable, with the holder has a very consistent weight, but it becomes very fast. It certainly does not demonstrate age and can withstand comparison with any other reflex on the market. Of course, like all full frames there is no comparison with small-format machines.

Pros: Body balance, natural colors, pure white, unparalleled sensor.

Cons: focus on side points, auto/man iso modification. only from menus.

Opinion: D700 ... a real bomb. Amazing how you can shoot without accidental hand movements, it seems to snap by itself, heavy right, external controls in the right place, all very comfortable. Very recommended for outdoor portraits without flash where I notice a fidelity of colors never seen (like the D3) but also in the studio, maybe with the right light makes a lot on all fronts. An unmistakable reflex and unique for use and yield. The light doesn't let her in, it gets this sensor out!

Pros: Excellent reflex, Icon and school leader produced by Nikon.

Cons: Today we can only refer to the only 12 megapixels

Opinion: Sold but a week later, repented, I bought it back and combination wants that I found, from the shopkeeper to whom I had sold it, exactly my 11,000 shots The limited resurgence at 12 MGP although in the cons, should not be considered as negative data since if At the time of the shot we compose the photo correctly, then you do not need any consistent cropping and the image that we will have is perfectly enjoyable. Key management and menus' great as well as the speed of focus, colors. ISO held at "human" values 1600, absolutely usable. If you don't sell it, and if you haven't, you're looking for it. An acquaintance with a photo studio came in at 890,000 shots, replacing only the battery. Of course he uses it with the proper attention Greetings and...... good hunting

Pros: Machine body, image quality, battery life, iso

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: I was lucky enough to own two. The machine body is sturdy and well balanced once in hand. Excellent command arrangement. Bright and wide viewfinder. It allows you to compose very well. I noticed compared to other cameras I owned, including D3x, D800E, D60, D7000, D610, an unparalleled balance between sensor and software. In other words, the D700 is the most balanced machine ever produced by Nikon (obviously compared by me to the aforementioned) for its incredible ability to shoot in all conditions and to take home ALWAYS the shot sought. Whether it's in nature, sports, landscape, night, still life, portrait, study, street or black and white. Moreover, for the aforementioned capabilities of this DSRL, I find both the machine and more than any other has the ability to enhance the merits or defects of the optics that are mounted to it. I noticed this especially when I switched from the Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8 to the Zeiss Milvus ZF 21mmf/2.8 that mounted on this body gave amazing results. So basically I recommend buying a used D700 with a few shots now that prices are low because I think in the future all in all a little far this camera could represent a must to have among collectors. Particular defects I have not found except in the Live View which is slow compared to the latest developments adopted on the latest cameras. I gave 10 in the vote to the D700 because there was no camera that more than this excited me for the precisely mentioned its most excellent quality: a Balance no longer found in any other body. Thank you for reading

Cons: Video sector that does not use dilutive Live view poor - few MPX in case of crop pushed. in the same era Canon with the 5D Mk II had a nearly double resolution.

Opinion: I've owned this body for about 3 years. Entered my possession in perfect condition with 84,000 shots by accident. the Canon 5D MK II I had purchased with a defect. Changed on par with the D700. Since then it has been total feeling. I own several newer Nikon bodies, but needless to say, this body is my favorite. It falls into the hand, intuitive solid, a reassuring shutter sound. It suffers a bit from the low lights, but it still shoots at 3200 iso with few interventions in pp. Light Files both Jpg and Nef also snaps in Tiff. All very workable. Few MPX is true but also for this large photodiodes with a very pleasant result reminiscent of analog in some cases. Very recommended. I met a photographer from Florence who never had a problem reached 900,000 shutter shots and it was still working. It has the pop-up flash (great in some cases). The pushed crops obviously do not make for her given the resolution not high, but very valid images even today. In 2019 I recommend to try it and in case you get excited as you did with me... good purchase. really cheap.

Pros: Weight, solidity, controls, "few mps", good ISO high hold

Cons: Weight, "few mp", 95% coverage, a single memory slot

Opinion: Purchased for two days to join my D7100. From the few tests I can only consider myself more than satisfied. Construction of the past and the weight suffers but a lot of solidity and excellent ergonomics with all the keys in the right place that allow you to never take your eyes off the viewfinder (fantastic with coverage only 95% to get used to). I put the few mps in both the pros and cons. On the one hand they allow you to work with old afd optics getting really good results and the "light" files do not stress the pc in pp. On the other hand you have little chance of cropped without expiring the quality. It holds up to 3200 ISO and beyond. No micromox problem (in my d7100 it is always lurking). For those who, like me, do not have great economic possibilities, I do not think there is anything more convenient for the transition to FF.... overconsiled!

Pros: Many.

Cons: Don't own it. He suffers, perhaps, in the low lights but it is more than normal for the time of the project.

Opinion: Purchased in 2010, sold, replays for a long time and repurchased. Exceptional tool in the high and medium lights, a bit of suffering in the low. It produces exceptional Jpeg files and NEF workability. Exceptional robustness and unparalleled feeling of security. Setting the buttons more than intuitive. I think that more than 10 years of its marketing Nikon has not done better: some specimens have more than 300,000 shots to the credit without ever needing assistance!

Pros: Ergonomics, keys at the right point, built to last over time, built-in flash, built-in AF illuminator

Cons: No second slot, no silent shutter

Opinion: You want a perfect SLR here you are served! His Majesty D700, the Nikon SLR, with light and detailed files, colors and images "corpose". Compact body, massive and with the controls in the right place. Accurate and reliable AF. In the 2019 D700? If for you the videos are not so important, with a few hundred euros you will have a perfect reflex to blow up your creativity.

Pros: Everything, and even more, by the time he went out. The revolution at hand (albeit with bloody economies) since the D3 was unthinkable, for my wallet and many.

Cons: Nothing, by the time he stepped out (faults?!?). Just some too much artifact in the JPGs (but it's caprine wool).

Opinion: With me from the end 2008 to 2012, was then resolved to a friend who still uses it without problems now in January 2019, now towards the 150,000 shots. It was a milestone of digital photography, more than the D3, of which was the "stripped down" version, almost with the same image quality, and economically more realistic to afford (always around 2000 you had to hunt eh?). The machine that allowed the release, with almost total usability up to ISO 6400 and in some cases even further (with adequate attention, light and postproduction). Usable without major problems even glass "a little ' so" as the old Tamron 70-300 unstabilized (still do it...) and the Nikkor 28-200, not stabilized (which I had bought used, and such resolvated then). A bomb with 50 1.4 G and Col 28-300 VR, as well as a Sigma 24-70 2.8 that gave me great satisfaction. There is nothing more to say except: the JPG... generally excellent (are those who take Raw + jpg, and that you do not have trouble taking the second when it comes out well), had some artifacts probably due to a depth of color or a firmware not at the top : In particular, banding and posterization artifacts, sometimes seen in the Sky and shadows (alongside typical reddish and shelled "pixelloni" nuances). And it could also happen in the Raw, although it usually fixable in post. Nothing else. If you search for a second body to use as a "mule", if you find it as good used to two lire, and if you have enough its 12 mpx (at its time oh if they were!), you can proceed quietly. There were some A3 prints out of fear, never made of larger but I think he held them, with the necessary precautions. Rating: 9, that could be almost 10.

Pros: Ergonomics, solidity, burst with battery grip, lightweight and very workable files, fast and precise focusing

Cons: Lack of a second memory slot

Opinion: Use it as a second body, along with a d800E. Compared to newer FF bodies, the d700 shows the limits of a sensor of more than 10 years (dynamic range, high ISO tightness), but always guarantees to take home the shot. The autofocus is precise and fast, the ergonomics, especially with the battery grip, is very good. The resolution should be assessed to suit your needs, for most of my use was sufficient. In contrast, the lack of a second memory slot is felt, especially in situations where you cannot afford to lose your job. Overall I consider it a very successful machine, definitely one of the best of Nikon

Pros: Of the 2008 ISO seal, practicality and disposition keys, file quality, sturdy, heavy enough to give you safety when you hold it in your hand.

Cons: Nothing to be 2018 and she was born in 2008

Opinion: Arrived yesterday taken for a whim on the advice of a friend of mine photographer I went from d7100 to D700, immediately proved that to say in the field natural colors very realistic, lightmeter works by God I say this because my d7100 overexposed, this instead goes out of his. Proven at ISO 6400 indoors zero color loss compared to my ex dx, you can raise the ISO to the ball certainly degrades but never as a DX sensor, the file is nice CMQ does not lose that much and is very workable with a bit of pp... What about now I will spend my first FX. Highly recommended to those who find a nice used for the cost of the Irisorio compared to new Nikon there is no comparison.. AF is a sniper does not lose a stra fast shot, perhaps the WB known some in accuracy than the d7100 but cmq in PP restores everything. JPG file in neutral gorgeous already ready small levels correction and boom the file shines and is ready to print what say I'm sodisfactissimo for the moment. The Council is a blade...

Pros: Ergonomics, robustness, reliability, controls, image quality

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: I recently purchased the D850 for its decated dynamic range and because, after ten years from the purchase of the D700, I thought it was time to update me. To my surprise my dear old D700 holds wide head to the recent and blazoned D850, compared to which is undoubtedly inferior in high sensitivities (the D850 has a spectacular yield to 3200 and 6400 ISO), but is superior as ergonomics, robustness and Especially as a holding of the high daytime running lights. The D700 is an indestructible tank while the D850-despite being substantially identical as shape, weight and size-restores a feeling of less robustness; The D700 grabs it quickly from the bag and you are immediately operational, the D850 grab it from the bag and accidentally opens the door of the card or disasses the display tilting with the risk of breaking. The D700 has the most important command-P/A/S/M-in the most logical and immediate position, close to the shutter release, the D850 has it in the left ring, forcing to use the left hand slowing down the shooting operations (and this is a tangible disadvantage than the D700). Also the D700 has the built-in flash-useful for the fill-in backlight-which the D850 (incomprehensibly) does not have; On the other hand it seems to me that the D700 is more exposed to the dust deposit on the sensor than the D850, which perhaps has a more effective cleaning system. I do portraits and landscape, I am interested in chromatic rendition, dynamic range, opening of shadows and holding highlights, rather than video, Wi-Fi, touch display, focus staking and various bells, and from a first comparison I think that as a pure quality of the image to Low ISO The D700 is higher than the D850. You read it right: top. With regard to the resolution, at the current state of my display and print equipment I am enough and advance the 12 mpx of the D700; I still reserve to make some comparative prints in A2 with my Canon pro-1000, where (with the same optics, subjects and shooting parameters) I obviously expect to find the difference between the sensor of the D850 mpx and the D700 12 mpx. Remains the Fatt Or that normally you do not print the photos in A2, but at most in A3, size in which the current printing technology does not allow to enhance the greater resolution of the D850. I wanted to sell the D700, but after trying the D850 I look good. In conclusion, for those who look at the substance, that is the quality of the image, and is not interested in the cruft (ie the electronic gadgets of contour and the amount of megapixels), the D700 remains firmly one of the best options on the market, resisting undeterring At the time, with an unbeatable price-quality ratio, costing a fraction of the D850, compared to which is not at all inferior (indeed, resulting in some important higher aspects).

Pros: Robustness, ergonomics, reliability, controls, file quality, few frills.

Cons: 200 ISO native, 95% viewfinder

Opinion: Taken more than anything out of curiosity, after having heard so much about it, made me question the whole Fuji kit that shortly thereafter ended up on sale without regrets. Incredible machine when compared to the age that has: for accuracy and speed, for AF performance, for image quality despite the "only" 12 megapixels. While being my first Nikon I learned to handle it in an afternoon so much are intuitive and well-arranged physical commands. Built like a boulder, I put it to the test during a trip to Iceland where he endured changes in temperature, humidity, rain, sand and salt water splashes without losing a shot. Considerable weight but well balanced. I use it especially for portraits and landscaping: 12 mpx can be a cons if you make huge prints or if you are fixing the detail to monitor, but for normal use the raw files, in my opinion, are excellent-very well workable even at ISO quite high , they return clean and "human" details, and above all show the full sense of 3d depth that is expected of the FF. Pity only for the viewfinder with coverage at 95% and for the base ISO to 200, but we are living quietly.

Pros: Construction and ergonomics, raw, color profiling, reliability, weight (for some), 12MPX sensor, AF

Cons: ISO seal, non-ISO-invariant sensor, dynamic range, viewfinder cover 95%, weight (for others), no remote shutter release via IR;

Opinion: Reliable, ergonomic and robust... this would suffice to cowin that a D700 in a Nikon kit can stand us; The limits of the sensor are there and are undeniable (non-ISO invariant sensor, dynamic range, ISO-like seal similar to modern APS-C), but the 12mpx are a godsend especially if you plan to point to a more dated and less expensive outfit, in fact the D700 makes it well with Qu Alsiasi Lens (also bottle bottoms); The profiling of color has been done for good and is one of the few machines with which you can shoot directly in jpg (eye only to white balance with artificial light); The AF is among the best I've tried... it hardly misses a shot, especially using the control Panel; Weight and size can be discriminating as comfortable, personally used with compact lenses such as 24 2.8 and 50 1.4 D I find it perfect, still comfortable and well balanced even with heavier lenses such as the 105 sigma macro; There are many other things missing... but if you only need to take pictures is essentially what you need... Despite the age recommended (especially for the price to which it is).

Pros: very robust, reliable, efficient, full-format, 10 years after the presentation there are excellent specimens of less than 400 euros. Built-in flash, very useful as a pilot light

Cons: on the paper most recent cameras outclass in resolution and ammenicoli, type the wifi.do not make the video.coverage of the viewfinder to 95%

Opinion: bought used to 56,000 shots in GB, for £ 400, complete with packaging and accessories, + two non-original batteries, works perfectly, making files exactly what you expect from the full size, keeping the familiarity of the younger sister D300 The 12.3 megapixels, which it has in common with the D300 and the D90, allow great photos, of great quality, with all due respect to pixel counters that photograph only at night and at 25,600 iso. A real tank, perhaps obsolete, but does not miss a shot, and is quite intuitive for those who use Nikon. the livewiew is not so cumbersome and is comfortable, the very bright viewfinder, equipped with awning, with clear indications. excellent LCD screens.Certo, for those who want to struts showing the latest model released this morning is not suitable, but it is for those who want to take a picture of high quality. Just bring it to the eye to realize it, rather than bring opinions to hear to say. Some bonuses: tropicalized, magnesium, with tiresand high-end finishes. Certain polymers do their job well, but the satisfaction that you hold up to 995 g makes you understand the sense of a "beautiful object", you do not live by function alone, as you should know who He talks about it badly but has been using it for ten years.

Pros: Machine body, high ISO, no video (I do not use it)

Cons: For me no one, maybe 12mpx?

Opinion: I worked with the D3 for a couple of years and then sold for the D3s, now that I am without a second body I went looking for a D700 also because the budget was very limited. I made some test shots from 1000 ISO to ISO 6400 and I confirm what is said on the forum, the file is equal to the D3, certainly the grain is finer on the flagship but it is very similar. In the age of technology and the super megapixels are of the same idea as when I sold the D610 for the D3, better a super tested body without recalls that leads you to finish a job without problems. The 12mpx even croppando enough for a 30x30 photo album. Taken more for its reliability at € 300 with 312000 shots.

Pros: Physical buttons for every aspect, solid and professional body, practical rendering of the sensor still very noticeable today does not fear comparison with the novelline!

Cons: A bit heavy but it is a pro machine ... Dynamic range actually not up to date but still good

Opinion: What a car guys, but where the designers of the D700 are over if there were still poor canon and poor sony ... rnThe D700 is one of those cars that do not age if it were a car would be a Delorean :-) rnI tried it for quite a bit lent by a friend, I also tried the D800 and in the end I chose the old lady, does everything and does it well and I spent 600 euros for a model with less than 10000 shots ... like new! rnThe use exclusively with primary optics and gives me great satisfaction.rnParagonata and the last monsters lose a bit in the dynamic range sometimes 12 megapixels are a little bit but I with her "I do everything" anyway.rnRecommended those who must take the first steps in the field and FULL wants to invest as much as possible in FULL optics.

Pros: Image quality, High ISO noise (max 6400 I pushed it), has a key for anything, comfortable, well-balanced, tropicalized handle

Cons: Weight (1 kg body only), since 2008 there are a few goodies that have today's reflexes (but I can do it a bit), battery a little undercurrent (arriving at almost 1000 shots), only CF memory card (I would have preferred SD for versatility)

Opinion: What a jewel. I could make several books to friends and acquaintances and never betrayed me. Even after sunset, raising the iso to 6400 I could make very good and useful shots. rnSave me several times allowing me to stay at 3200 iso and 1600iso with clean files. rnA precision focus I like a lot and it's an extra weapon for macros and landscapes, allowing me to retrieve 100% the use of some vintage MF lenses. rnIn addition, the focus button is not only in the shutter button but also slightly above the rear display. Often when you press the AF button repeatedly, the focus button is halfway, and often (macro first) you lose focus and you have to wait for it to return to focus or you need to focus manually by correcting the AF to sometimes it does not go. With the focus of a second button instead, once I focus it remains so and I can push the shot as it seems to me without losing anything, it is comfortable :) rnrn What else to say, satisfied and now to do some books or some event me I feel very quiet%21 rn

Pros: Robust body, lightweight and workable files, natural colors, good ISO hold. Great viewfinder.

Cons: single CF slot otherwise I would not know.

Opinion: Slightly used socket, with 11K shots, the body looks like a new, fine calibration of Picture controls, it does not make a mistake. Good White Balance Automatically, better than the D300 I still hold. Compared to the D800, shooting with the same lens 50 f1.8 af d, of course the newest D800 will beat it in detail but 100% bigger I prefer the colors of the old lady. With € 15 taken on OTG cable, in two minutes download photos on the smartphone other than WiFi, Unbeatable. I still have to test it for good, but the photos it does with the 18/35 afd are great. If I find a 28/105 well kept I take it on the fly. Really satisfied. On the counter I could insert the LV system, but I do not use it. Those who want to switch to FX and not spend large amounts of money have no alternatives. With 6/700 eurines you bring home a myth. Think people think.

Pros: Semi-rigid body (with pro characteristics) robust and reliable, sensor with "right" pixels that digests discrete optics well but which, combined with PRO optics, becomes stratospheric, light files, yield up to 4000 ISO, used price.

Cons: Weight, yield after 4000 ISO, single CF slot, excessive shutter noise, non-100% coverage viewfinder, prehistoric LV, tires.

Opinion: Perfect machine for those who can do and only want to take pictures. Today Nikon would see well from producing a body with the same characteristics of this, otherwise it would not sell anymore neither the flagships nor the "faulty toys" that it produces now, afflicted by continuous calls and firmware updates. Taken used by an amateur with less than 18,000 shots with BG, has a high yield at high ISO up to 4000, over which the files show a grain too intrusive and an obvious loss of dynamic range. For me its 12 Mpx are more than enough to create beautiful, exciting and full of details (of course ... not as detailed as those of an 810 but that, if you do not "work", only serves to earn your dealer of computers and hard disks). Forgive the shortcomings of some less performing targets, but with objectives for exceptional results. I do not do video, so perfect and immortal machine ... my daughter will have to learn to take pictures of this! I joined a D3s for high ISO (and for the "monkey").

Pros: Body and controls PRO, reliability, quality and workability of RAW, AF module and speed.

Cons: Prehistoric Live View, weight, few Mpx for someone (for me a bonus).

Opinion: I bought this fantastic car in October 2016, from Nital origin, used with just under 40,000 shots, in excellent condition and equipped with MB-D15 Battery Pack at a great price of 750 €. The body is true PRO, in magnesium and completely tropicalized. Its "only" 12Mpx can be for some even if compared to the 24Mpx of a car today, but I can assure you that it produces impressive RAWs, not too heavy and workable with excellent information content. Very good ISO holding up to 3200/4000 (threshold beyond which I prefer not to push me because I like to have very clean files). Usable up to 5000 ISO. I've also tried to snap to 6400 ISO, but the files are far from being tossed, but there is a need to be a bit of post-production to work the right thing and break down the noise. Personally, I have never felt needing to push me to such high sensitivity levels. True PRO controls. When you use it you have the impression of having itAnd in the hands of a true professional car, with all its commands in the right place, certainly the weight is felt especially if equipped with BG and important optics. I personally use it with Nikon 50 f / 1.8 G, Samyang 14 f / 2.8, Nikon 24-120 f / 4 G ED VR and Tamron 150-600. After several months of use I find myself extremely happy, I would not change it with a D750 that I have tried more than once but never gave me that feeling I got right from the D700. Maybe the jump would be to do with the D810. Also utilized for birdlife and thanks to its 51 fast and effective AF module, combined with the important burst, makes it an excellent battle machine as well. I consider it a real milestone of professional photography of the last decade when Mamma Nikon was able to give the most demanding professional photographer a complete and reliable machine. Now that there's still a lot of different under 50k shots and in good conditions, it would not be a nice specimen to run away.

Pros: NIKON wrote on the pentaprism: people think you are a good photographer ...

Cons: It's worth it: if it's new and the place gets you 8-900 Euros. The stabilizer is missing on the sensor.

Opinion: Use since 2010. Reflex overcame in everything. Resolution that does not even allow A4 printing (there are several interventions on this forum that say it); I printed in A3 format + files a bit cropped to 9-10 Mpix and ... nothing, I had to throw them off! All metal body, unnecessarily heavy material, obsolete and overcome by modern thermoplastic polymers (I learned it on this forum). From 3200 ISO up colors are dull (read in another forum, but the same little user below affirms the opposite by giving a rating of 10 ... will be a case of dual personality?). Although I have never lost a D700 file stored on CF, I find it inconceivable to have only one slot: every time I snap, please imploring that it does not corrupt a few bits. The AF has only 51 points, all in the center (not like the D600 ...) and does not work in low lights. Strangely I was able to focus on f / 4 optics, which, at TA, required a 1 / 20s exposure to 12800 ISO (do EV computation) ... must have been a statistical fluctuation considering what is read in Network ... Unique valueIs the viewfinder that does NOT cover 100%: when you look at the monitor file you find in the picture things you did not even suspect!

Pros: Sturdiness, ergonomics, high quality files, dynamic range, handling up to 6400iso, reliability

Cons: Mirror excessive noise resulting vibration, indicating the left hand ring only from above, external tires.

Opinion: What about this queen, a milestone of professional photography of the last decade. The use since 2009, approximately 125,000 shots and not one barrel. Botte, falls, water, beer, the beer is over there on, nothing goes forward with his head down. Weddings at high iso, of course, takes pays D800D4-5 last generation but remains on very high levels. Photography Interior 200 iso perfect, we realize from the RAW files Tiff to extremely detailed 24MP. Pros: impeccable construction, ergonomics, color rendering, file lightness, held iso (considered the year), FF, in used price.

Cons: Machine of 2008, to the present (2016): shutter sound, resolution (12 megapixels), lack of wi fi.

Opinion: Machine made in 2008 but still very valid and superior to most Nikon SLR on the market (obviously not the D5). rnFile lightweight but very clean, perfect for any online use and adequate for normal prints. You can reliably work in the case of services with many photos: the speed at which they process from 24mega up files (RAW) is far below the 60 megs of a D810, obviously this is a pro like speed, a counter if you need to crop the photo. rnTenuta high ISO up to 3200, acceptable to 6400 (with a little 'noise reduction becomes great), well you feel that they are not native ISO. rnResa color and autofocus of the highest level, in my opinion better than a D600 / 610, especially nell'autofocus (more spaced points). rnrnLa still consider myself a good car, now above all at great prices.

Pros: Fastness, processability of files, high iso, reliable.

Cons: if pargaonata to other more recent bodies we notice the difference in image quality, but now antiquated sensor legendary.

Opinion: Taken 2 years ago secondhand in place of d7000: although two years older than the d700 made me do a good jump, I think there is no comparison, since the colors and shades that I could grasp the full frame , never managed with d7000 or almost always dissatisfied (end fact I sold it). I am very well, it is reliable and the AF does not miss me a shot, the 12 Mpxl are good but sometimes feel the need to have more pixels to make more driven clippings, but I survive the same;) is in used are many opportunities, yet kept up with few scatti..consigliata.

Pros: Immortal, even in 2016! Good quality up to ISO 3200, flurry, weather sealing, strength, ability to connect with smartphones, layout of controls

Cons: weight (?), shutter noise, no video (but it's a camera!)

Opinion: I own this car for 6 years, and still do not feel the need of an upgrade. He continues to give me great satisfaction, especially when coupled with optical quality. I use it mostly in the field of sports and photo reportage, and I can say that it defends fine again. Not everyone knows this, but using the OTG technology of newer smartphone you can connect it via USB cable directly to the device, for instant sharing of photos (that I know will NOT work with all professional nikon). A trick definitely better and safer than traditional sd wi-fi cards (way too slow and unreliable) and the wireless feature of the new nikon. One option that svecchia suddenly, making it really competitive today. Produces well-workable files, not too heavy as those produced by the new SLR. The years will probably pass, but the D700 will always remain a reference camera. Evergreen!

Cons: Real limit: coverage viewfinder only 95%, for people like me make up the frame to avoid cuts in PP.

Cons: Little things that do not affect the photographs as: Battery life! It consumes a little bit to high iso and multishot weight ... but it is a feature for me! not suitable as first SLR, Others I have not found anything

Opinion: In my opinion, the Nikon camera you have always in your bag. Perhaps the most successful FF and perfectly in line with older sister D800 which additionally has the MP and a processor more advanced but not suitable for sports photography. The thing that impressed me most is its yield ISO frighteningly high ... The camera body is very strong, very heavy but stable with large optics. It requires a lot of goals pushed and brings out the best from them as the latest reflex! perfect for macro and sport but suitable for all! Its 12 MP is the right compromise is outrageous that a house like Nikon pull out machine from 24MP 10x slower without a substantial difference image .... Pros: Body pro. Brilliance of the files. dynamic range and held at high ISO. Coverage improved AF points of the D3.

Cons: Sheaths of tropicalisation and pliable rubber caps in a few months. Weight (which by the way is also an advantage if you impressive optical mountain). MS-D10 module which is not always communicating properly with the camera circuit, and AA batteries that are discharged almost immediately (identical defect on APSC, but perhaps more content). The weight (including MB-D10) is a bit 'unbalanced, and handling it for a few hours the pulse is affected (the D300 is more balanced and manageable). Insufficient buffer for gusts over 10 frames.

Opinion: The digital SLR designed for real professional setting commands, tropicalisation (though pliable after a short time), held at high ISO (up to 3200 if there is enough light, if scarce 2000/2500), brightness of images (compared to new sensors Nikon has a more organic stamp which also resembles that of the film), reliability of the chassis (robust to withstand any accident). A perfectly balanced machine: no miracles and does not deceive the user. It merely gratifies him with his great qualities. In a contemporary full-frame SLR tormented by the calls for failures and manufacturing defects, the D700 remains the old Fiat UNO Fire, which runs its quiet as a mouse 150k / 200k triggers without missing a beat. Super affidabile.rnLa IQ of his images is certainly less than that of the latest generation of sensors, but I still prefer the D700 to D750, to date. When (and if) change my mind, I will replace it. It just 12Mp, and maybe that's his real deficit, mwhen exposed to good, his prints can also reach 70x100. It works well with all Nikon lenses, from the series / ais on, and the more you raise the shot is better, of course. The AF motor is very sensitive and precise, almost like the D3, although it has a snap-in micro-micro delay that keeps behind the D3. The WB-car performs well in most cases, but sometimes spectacularly misfires. To be 'antiquated' has a thrift price still quite high, but maybe it is for its quality fruibilissime today. Very nice car.

Pros: full frame cheap in used, files usable to any value also ISO 6400, viewfinder, optical mounts to, af internal ergonimia (each button is where it should be), construction (flow in the mountains at 4600m and -10 ° has not damage), AF-ON button (essential in my opinion, the canon have it all), eyepiece shutter built into the pentaprism.

Cons: no video, when set to A or S you can not change the ISO setting with the sub dial, weight, size, shutter sound, not how silenzionsa, one CF slot, you can develop RAW Room, viewfinder covers 100% of frame, 12mp, Fn little customizable level only on an axis, live view slow.

Opinion: My first full frame camera after the D5000, the leap is enormous. I mainly use it with fixed lenses AI inherited from my father. Images excellent in all sensitivity, although in 6400 there is a little 'noise and dynamic range decreases: I was able to shoot with a 50mm 1.4 1/50 ISO6400 virtually in the dark! Shutter sound really noisy, it looks like a machine gun, not recommended for street and macro. Almost all functions have dedicated physical buttons, large screen almost always off (longer battery life). Although I have listed many shortcomings, mainly due to age, is a wonderful machine that will assist me for the next (hopefully) 4/5 years.

Cons: Live View prehistoric man, the rubber terminal cover tend to smollarsi after a very short time, only one CF slot, lack of video module, noisy (the shutter release sound blacksmith).

Opinion: This machine takes me from 2011 in all the most diverse situations. For a long time it was my only camera body so we did pretty much everything! Now I leave it to rest more on the threshold of 110,000 shots but I can say that shows no sign of slowing down (if not outside). The quality of the file is from another world, someone has compared his grain to that of the film, and it is absolutely right. Pros: Quality of the file, made at high ISO, construction and solidity, ergonomics, performance objectives with AI-S or earlier, flash serving as commander, location of the various controls.

Cons: Viewfinder coverage below 100%, lack of video, lack of a dual slot for sd / cf second (although I do not find serious), slowness in the selection of the individual focus points using the appropriate arrows, inconvenience of caps for the front doors flash and remote control, protective plastic to become detached at some points, needs to optical quality to give their best.

Opinion: Use a lot of satisfaction with the D700 for almost three years and I can say I know very bene.rnNaturalmente incorporates all the advantages of the full format, that I am not to list, I rather enjoyed the performance of the machine with AF-D (such as 35 -70 2.8 or 80-200 bi ring) and, above all, AI-S: the files are presented with a contrast of shadows and with less pronounced and "invasive" than those that could be achieved with modern optics of the same band ( which of course I tried) .rnHo also always appreciated the strength and construction of the machine, a real rock, which immediately gives a feeling of safety and quality of materials: the ergonomics is very studied and apt, in fact sometimes I feel that the handle has been tailor-made for my mani.rnI commands are all in the right position, with the exception of the button to select the AF points, which is rather awkward to reach when shooting using the battery grip: in this case, I have always unplug a moment the eye from the viewfinder, rest the thumb andredial the immagine.rnPer let alone when pressed unintentionally with fronte.rnE 'just that button that makes me begin listing some flaws that I found in the machine, primarily just the command of AF point selection (which of course can also be used to scroll through the menu or through images, perfect for these purposes): I find it particularly slow and cumbersome, we say that it has an immediate response and in some cases can be time prezioso.rnNon know the latest Nikon thereof end (or higher), but, also taking with Canon, I found that the joystick for selecting points autofocus is extremely faster and more intuitive, so much so that in a split second I can always select the point that interests me (especially during ceremonies or other events in which the AF point is to position itself on the eye of a subject or a point of interest) to other .rnPassando difettucci, would be the ideal opportunity to shoot video and he added in a comfort plus an additional slotfor a sd: Also, I find that the caps that protect the front doors for the flash and the remote control are a little 'uncomfortable, because often open themselves (and bother, especially when holding the body shoulder and shooting in hand when shooting) and I find that they could design them meglio.rnInfine, my copy has some plastic parts that are partly unglued: nothing serious, because to see them you have to lift a finger (and still seem still well solid body, due, probably, to some additional anchor) .rnrnOvviamente, the faults I listed do not find them in any way serious or binding in the event of indecision between the D700 and another corpo.rnTrovo fact that this car is simply excellent in everything, even in sport (adding the BG with speed kit), so highly recommend it to anyone who wants to succeed in the FF even on a professional level.

Pros: Full Frame, held incredible high ISO, AF impeccable, sensor 12mpx monstrous and sparse (friend of the night), and buffer speed, strength, sealing serious, ergonomics, ease of use, flash commander, CF, battery, high quality materials. in short, everything ..!

Cons: To be picky the material "plasticky" CF compartment and pop-up flash.

Opinion: From owner of a small, but still valid D3100 for about 2 years, I have evaluated the long-notorious passage at the Full Frame and my choice was right now the mythical D700. I found a used D700 in the area in great condition and I got it on the fly, without esitazioni.Ho read reviews of all kinds of D600, D610, D800, D810, but something in my head told me to take a D700. What can I say, it is a true CAMERA. I was struck immediately (however I had already tried a D700 to a fellow photographer PRO) from the excellent quality of materials and design features; is a Panzer, solid, comfortable in 'wield it, the keys are all in the right place, the feeling that it is of utmost safety and confidence in using it, it seems to use it for a lifetime. The full format is another planet, there's no doubt. Three-dimensionality of the subjects, color tone, held at high ISO values ??superb. I photographed at a party at night in poor lighting conditions and with the small D3100 accustomed to not go over glthe 800 ISO, I was surprised to be able to push above 2000 ISO without worrying about excessive digital noise; the noise is pleasant, reminiscent of film grain! Another advantage is definitely the choice for Nikon to take a little dense sensor, "only" 12 Mpx; This fact allows to shoot at high ISO values, in difficult lighting conditions, keeping the shutter speed relatively high, 1/60-1/80 sec. without having to worry about having blurry pictures or underexposed. The manageability of NEF files is great, as well as their storage. This camera gives you the pleasure of photographing and will remain in history as a milestone for the brand NIKON. Highly recommended! Rn

Pros: Ergonomics, lightweight files (compared to D610, and D800), robustness, CF, pop-up flash master (compared to D3 and D4), fast AF, 8 fps with BG + EN-EL4

Cons: mono-CF slot, viewfinder 95%, shortness video

Opinion: A great machine, construction unmatched by D800, endured 50 degrees of Death Valley in August and -20 of Cervinia in January (on the slopes mean ...) without batting an eyelid. As construction is precisely comparable to D3 and D4 to more than D610 and D800. Churns out squeaky clean files up to 1600 ISO, and most are light seen 12 MP, which in the end they're fine for 60x40 print quality. BG with a little 'big and heavy and less ergonomic than D3, but just let us hand; is the price to pay for having a gust to 8 fps more than excellent. For me the only limit is that the viewfinder to 95% on a pro out of place, everything else is stellar.

Cons: Lack second slot for an SD card

Opinion: I own a d7000 and happily for the transition to the FF I have chosen compatibly with the possibilities of the moment buying a d700 and I own for nearly five months. I've had feedback from all the book reviews and the positive comments in this forum, but also other domestic and foreign. I was fortunanto in finding a occasionissima just less than two years of life, kept on a mainiacale so much that I thought it was new, back from an inspection and cleaning sensor Nital and again in vacuum (I received the bill of intervention) with 18 000 shots assets and a very complete equipment for just 1000 coffee. A private seller of Brescia, which has proved a person correttissima.rnLa first thing that struck me was the camera body substantially larger than the d7000, you hold well and the controls are all at your fingertips even if the available functions different from the d7000 I still creates imbarzzo. The weight with Kilo Battery Grip exceeds the transmit strength and solidity, but nache feeling of stability. I'm experiencing a very fast AF and upnow very reliable even at low brightness. Compared to the d7000 has a tight high ISO definitely more and better in the file it produces. RAW files that suddenly have more weight than those of d7000 and actually clean and manageable, which suggests that although it has only 12.1 mpx these are sufficient and quality. Certainly would not hurt to have, with the same characteristics, a more resolute sensor. I would not dare compare it to the newer cameras both at home and outside Nikon (Canon in the first place) because surely technologically advanced, but I think it was a point of reference and can compete for the final result. Pleasant is the sound of the mirror / shutter, almost feel a automatic weapon even though it might be a limit in places where silence is a must. For the video industry can not vouch as they do not prefer this area, the only flaw noted is the lack of a second slot dedicated to a SD maybe as an extension space for emergencyjpg or backup. rnCon my short experience I can not advise it to anyone who wants a FF without fainting and being able to go on the safe side.

Pros: Ergonomics, robustness, simplicity, high ISO sealing, sealing, integrated flash ...

Cons: battery life, sound of shutter

Opinion: In my opinion the best camera ever produced by Nikon for the relationship between price / quality (it is normal that a D4 is better ...). It adapts perfectly to all photographic styles, at all levels of preparation (from beginners, advanced amateurs to professional ...). It 'an instrument that exudes solidity from the first time you pick it up. Solidity that proves every day in all weathers / the camera is employed. Used with Nikon optics Pro (but also Sigma) gives Images "awesome" from all points of view: from the definition all'incisività, the dynamic range of the absence (or almost all) of electronic noise, thanks to its fantastic (and little "pushed") sensor. Among the "small" defects in the use of this "wonder" certainly put in first place the clicking noise, definitely worthy of his being "tractor" ... When shooting in "closed" (ceremonies, shows, churches / places of worship, street, etc.). Sometimes can really be "embarrassing" ...! It 'the only flaw that makes me look, sometimes with a hint of envy those who use material that other house distinguished by the colors red and white, but whose name escapes me ...!

Pros: Robust, noise resistance to high iso, clean images, ease of file management.

Cons: Sight coverage not 100%.

Opinion: The files are great and manageable, the sensor has the right number of pixels: up to 1600/2000 iso, besides I did not have the opportunity to use it, the images are always precise and clean. Logical menu and easy to manage. It holds well, body sturdy and heavy machine at the right point. I appreciate the lack of video features. It's a "pure" camera.

Pros: Quality sensor, proper density and number of megapixels, superb ergonomics, high iso phenomenal management, quality of materials, strength, f that does not miss a beat

Cons: after years of use I have not yet found

Opinion: Despite its age, the d700 is the most successful car of the house giallonera. And 'primarily an armored vehicle. Used under the snow, under the hail, under heavy rain, at high temperatures. In short, it has been through a lot, but not even a scratch. Sforna file is easily supplied, 12 mpx. It has a resistance to noise that is fantastic! I pass the ISO 6400 without any problem. The grain is very fine, only slightly affecting the sharpness of 'image. With the battery grip reaches 8 fps. That rivals almost a flagship. The module af 51 points is really a wonder. Never one shot out of focus, but uncertainties. Snap the subject and would not give any more. Ergonomics at the highest levels. Even with heavy lenses' s handle is stable and balanced. With bg increases esponenzialmente.rnChi possesses is unlikely to sell.

Pros: Quality from all points of view, sensor, imperceptible noise at high ISO, ergonomics, number of pixels, autofocus impeccable and precise

Cons: Lacks a slot for SD secondary backup, battery life a bit 'poor,

Opinion: Despite the passage of six years after its release the D700 remains an example for the next generation of cameras. Does not feel the passage of time and, thanks to the amateur market which fortunately do not understand a tube of photography, they can also find specimens to 900 euro with yes and no few thousand shots. Yeah, because a camera such as it exits a D800 becomes obsolete ... rnAvendo the same sensor but costing half of D3, the D700 has ousted the Flagship ruining business to Nikon: for this reason nowadays there are cameras like the D600 , neither fish nor fowl ... now the house is fine giallonera careful not to give again in the foot! Moreover, the D700 is fine for all sectors photographic (with battery grip increases the battery life and the burst). In terms of photography bed is probably one of the best choices regarding the number of pixels (in my opinion the right), the superb quality of the images when combined with optical pro, weight (not excessive as quellor un'ammiraglia), the battery life (after a 12-hour service remains almost half) but especially for holding as high iso: 6400 is barely noticeable and sometimes not even bring it in post-production being so fina almost film not bother when present. I work with two D700 and exclusively fixed targets: through apertures such as 1.4 or 1.8 combined with the D700 I can safely work at night without flash. rnQuello of which, especially for photography bed, you miss is the double slot, one CF and one SD: unfortunately marriages are not repeated and to rely on a back up is not a trivial matter. rnChe else to say? A car far from obsolete, but rather who has not yet been passed by the majority of the newcomers. This how it was conceived: the right number of pixels, an efficient autofocus system, a noise resistance impressive, a rugged and ergonomic, all buttons very accessible to the right place. rnMolti consider superata because it does not have the video apparatus, the wi-fi, gps, live view, the display tilting ... to me this is nothing but a good thing !! I hate all these frills in a camera. These all serve except to take pictures.

Pros: Right amount of pixels; great maneggievolezza; senior management ISO reference customization functions.

Cons: Only one slot for a memory card, hard to find other defects.

Opinion: Machine dreamed of since its release (2008). Only in 2013 I was able to find it at an affordable price for my pocket, but in all these years of waiting, I had no doubt ... this was / is the camera that I wanted and when I could not try me disappoint! rnSensore that returns the correct file "heaviness", is easily supplied and full of detail, even with optical semi-prof. The use safely even in the presence of high humidity or piggerelle purposes, its weather sealing if you can safely afford. With the addition del'MB-D10 we mount the 50mm and riding with ease, distance to 300mm and continues to maneuver safely ... in short, everything is a body-machine that, once entered into a kit is rare that bait (and the maintenance of the price it is an indicator used).

Pros: Quality, stands up well to high ISO, structural soundness, very ergonomic design combined with a large balance in hand (clearly with MD10), Autofocus very fast, excellent gust, Flash which serves as Commander.

Cons: I would say at least nothing to what I have found, is not a "feather" but I personally do not see a problem. At the level of the batteries is recommended that you use the battery grip because the girl "Beve"

Opinion: You can not not love this machine if you have the opportunity to try it. Lofty quality, excellent stability at high iso, ease of use where everything is at your fingertips, 8fps burst with real battery usage sisters maggiorni D3 and this allows you to remedy the problem if we want to call the problem of battery life because considering the performance offered by this machine consumption is well rewarded. He manages to bring out the best with quality optics and give good shots with optical media quality but clearly this does not depend on the car, this makes it an honest car. But the first thing that makes you fall in love with her that effect is triggered when M60! It will be old compared to the new d800 but honestly makes me see that big gap. Recommended for those who want a camera to love!

Pros: Excellent for all types of photography. For me, the righteous million pixels: neither too many nor few.

Cons: I can not find fault. Sure, objectives requires expensive peak times, but I do not think is a flaw: 'forces' to make beautiful pictures!

Opinion: The features of this machine are excellent down were illustrated in detail. I would like to highlight two features I like the most. It has a high dynamic range which allows you to control contrasts also very strong and get nice pictures high key and low key. Compared to the Nikon that preceded it, even for the Flagship, has a much reduced noise which enables the use of high ISO, canceling a big disadvantage compared to the Canon. It 's the main reason that prompted me to sell and buy the D2X D700.rnIl cost of used this machine is still pretty high, but I think it's a fair price for the quality of the camera.

Pros: The Nikon D700 is a machine that by an exceptional sharpness, possesses un'ergonometria the seamless with all the optics mounted. Perfect White Balance Auto (with 2.1 update) low noise at high ISO (up to 6400 ISO acceptable), ease of use, and finally bright viewfinder!

Cons: Footprint (the car weighs almost 1 Kg) with a pair of zoom lenses in the bag transport burden to carry on his shoulders it becomes really heavy, slot for one Compact Flash card, it lacks the video for lovers of times (but for the undersigned is a plus negative) battery enough.

Opinion: Clarification: rnNella card presentation of the Nikon D700 above has been reported erroneous data: RNLA item of the "Viewfinder" is to be read: Cover 95% and not (as erroneously reported) 100%. RnNonostante the release of her younger sister D600 , D700, in my humble opinion, plus some more that make up the same way as professional. In addition, the use of rnquando - over three years - I never had any kind of anomaly. It is like a dream! RnSaluti.

Pros: Tank, autofocus, ergonomics, high iso

Cons: Only one memory slot CF, battery, video (do not care),

Opinion: The lady of the house anzianotta Nikon. rnHa "only" 12 mpx but it goes like a train. It has a wide dynamic range and using it with Pro Optic returns file spectacular and clean. The battery has a much longer life than other Pro but you just have, like me, a second battery Gryp and neo batteria.rnUn not unimportant is the only slot for memory cards, I would have preferred the SD! RNLA management is iso phenomenal, very clean up to 4000 and 6400 useable

Pros: Image quality. Value for money very high. Quality of materials and solidity. Speed ??autofocus. Ergonomics.

Cons: It has two slots for memory cards, batteries do not last long. Several times I found the cover closing the open space of the memory

Opinion: The camera that made me rediscover photography. With its 12 megapixels produces only high-quality files up to ISO 6400! A pleasure to use it! Very versatile machine. With battery and two batteries ergonomics improves but still increases the size, very comfortable but for photo sessions in which the number of shots is important!

Pros: Robust construction, large and bright viewfinder, sensor with little noise, Af quite effective, built-in flash commander

Cons: Sensor with high resolution but not enough, it has video capabilities, it lacks the dual slots for memory cards, although there is space in the compartment, the battery is not impressed by duration

Opinion: I kept it for more than two and a half years in practice since arriving on the market. It 'a good camera with an exposure latitude and high noise content anyway. The battery life not very good but I solved using the grip MB-D10 battery with the D3 and so I increased the burst to 8 Fot / s. However, in this configuration the clutter exceeds that of the flagship D3. Overall I am more than satisfied with this body

Pros: Sharpness and low noise, on camera software is very customizable and very useful features, built-in flash which also works as a commander

Cons: High cost, performance improvement, only 12mpx, lack of dual CF, autofocus little handsome in critical situations (flying front of small birds flying fast and unpredictable), limited battery

Opinion: Great body in my opinion the cost is too high by then the age of the mass market ... the eldest among camera bodies Nikon FX house .... outstanding clarity and file tones very pleasing but above all clean .... although I feel that all his qualities (even at the level of many other foreign rivals) are all upgradeable from the MPX where a pompatina to 24mpx not hurt at all, simplified to focus not hurt then saw that its main defect you can see it if tested with a 600mm lens and compared with a Canon 5DMKII home front of flights of birds such as Urie, small fast and unpredictable flight ... where Nikon Canon still limps file returns in focus and sharp even when used freehand (Nikon would require at least a monopod). The battery life is limited (the first thing you notice when you use this machine), even if in the end by adding the optional Battery Grip can bypass the problem. The qualities that I prefer is the function of "Multi-Exposure" aspect more than enough to make you steer this body especially if you like the landscape. Finally a few words about dynamic range certainly excellent and among the best in the market, even if you do not reach the performance of Fuji camera bodies (which I used before) still unbeaten on dynamic range.

Pros: Robust, reliable, excellent high ISO's

Cons: missing video

Opinion: taken after the D200, mainly used for sports photo with original optical (70-200, 300) bears very well in the rain and snow without any consequence. Essential to the battery grip especially for the 'use in vertical and' autonomy (even if it is designed so absurd, much better than the D200), the 'Ergonomics is the classic Nikon cones main controls at your fingertips without having to rummage through the various menus and submenus. There are also excellent. Jpg file, not at the level of the Fuji (reference point) but used mainly for publishing needs. The only flaw, a row of dead pixels on the sensor after 200 shots, promptly replaced under warranty quickly.

Pros: Extraordinary, in any situation, from sports to the landscape macro or any other kind of photography D700 gets along very well!

Cons: The battery life is quite limited when compared to other machines using the same battery (EN-EL3a). It should be used only with quality lenses because if there mediocre lenses mounted the D700 will display all the flaws!

Opinion: The sharpness of the images coming out of this machine is absolutely awesome and I before I had a semi-pro, a D80 and at constant aperture lens and the image quality is significantly higher, it is one of those cars that makes you understand that the megapixel count much less than the quality of the filters on the sensor. D700 is excellent at high ISO up to 4000 ISO gets along very well and also to 6400 shots are anything but to be thrown away. What kind of world would it be without D700?

Pros: solid, resistant, autofocus impeccable, the best high-iso after the D3s, very customizable, integrated flash, which also functions as a remote commander

Cons: lack of dual CF slot, battery life much lower than the flagship

Opinion: I use it with great satisfaction in landscape photography, macro, wildlife and sports photography. It 's the perfect SLR camera for every situation, a full frame with a cleaning and file quality top notch. He endured a shooting session at night to several hours at -30 ° C (only the battery is affected, this is indicated by a battery-grip or 2-3, spare batteries), passed unscathed through a storm front in the mountains and has never had any problems even in case of sudden changes in temperature (inside-out and / or vice versa). The quality is excellent at low ISO, high dynamic range. At high ISO, on a par with the D3, is a point of reference, does not drop sharpness (the file remains much the way) and chroma noise is non-existent with all the sensitivity (excluding H0.7-2). Very clean (luminance level) up to 4000 ISO, entirely usable for prints 30x45 6400. In coupled to lenses Pro, 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8..300/2.8, etc. 400/2.8. file gives extremely engraved, rich in contrast and beautiful colors so that the post-production does not require any special steps if not the classic workflow Raw. The autofocus with the big lens is extremely accurate and very fast even in critical conditions. At the level of ergonomics is good except with the big lens: The system is well balanced and comfortable. Note the negative battery life, much less the flagships, and the lack of a dual-slot to divide the raw jpeg (at least this is my need). AA filter would not hurt a bit less invasive.

Pros: solid, indestructible, space, autofocus, low noise.

Cons: no video

Opinion: after two years of use I can say that more 'than satisfied, use with Nikon lenses (16-35,80-200,600 f4 vr) the accuracy of autofocus, robustness to noise high iso makes it an ideal machine for amateurs evolved, I have never tadito with Nikon lenses and 'stunning in all aspetti.i controls are easy to use customizable rings give a great help. would not hurt the video function and the infrared sensor for remote shooting ..
