Pros: Quite portable, decent resolution, weather sealing, close up capability.

Cons: The zoom ring is quite stiff on rotation, noisy and shaking when switch off or change from shooting to play, expensive in comparison with the competition on the same segment quality/price; I experienced several strange moments when suddenly refused to focus.

Opinion: Its zoom range is welcomed and is filling a gap in the Fuji chain of lenses. I like the weather sealing and its close up capabilities, the resolution is decent, but not extraordinary. It is also nice that it accepts teleconverters and, at least with the 1.4x version, a decent prolongation can be achieved. I made a comparison, on the same body, with the Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 VR and the sharpness is more or less the same, but the price of the Nikon is more than 3x lower. The main advantage of Fuji in this comparison is the weather sealing, acceptance of teleconverters and it seems, the lack of focus breathing.

Pros: Very good at all focal lengths when used within the limits of the optics

Cons: N.N.

Opinion: I have my say... For its price it's a good lens. Like all zooms with great range, it has its limits and must be considered To get closer to landscapes, objects that do not have particular details is fine, to have a good sharpness the subject must not be too far away otherwise it will not be able to make it to its maximum, especially if it is used at its upper limit but this depends on the level of sharpness that each photographer requires, for some it will be fine, for others it will not The most demanding will have to spend more a greeting to all

Pros: Tropicalization, sharpness, WR, excursion block

Cons: If I really have to find one, the lack of the tripod ring

Opinion: I bought this lens before leaving for Patagonia and South America, and I practically never took it off except on rare occasions! Lightweight, compact and tropicalized, it has a yield along the entire focal length truly remarkable! The stabilization does its duty in an excellent way even if the ring for the mono / tripod could have been convenient. The travel lock that is automatically deactivated by turning the dial is very convenient! Mounted on an APS-C it is already a nice cannon, but for lovers of photo hunting there is also the possibility of mounting multipliers! As far as I'm concerned, it's absolutely one of the best lenses I've ever used!

Pros: Tropicalized, stabilized, weight, very reactive AF, flare.

Cons: As much as it is considered "cheap" it is not worth the money it costs.

Opinion: Unfortunately with this XF 70-300mm I did not have a positive approach; purchased on Amazon at € 866.00 I certainly did not expect miracles but at least a lens that did not make me regret the money spent. Tested in the field with a Fuji X-H2S for a whole week, I immediately say that TA makes very little, the images are always devoid of details, closing a Stop we can improve something but never fully sharp images, in the center they can be fine but at the edges they always remain a bit pasty "the XF 55-200mm is so much but so much better". At f/5.6 aperture from 100 to 200mm, the images are sharp enough at least in the center all other focal lengths not to mention then at 300mm that there is nothing to do! it is always quite soft and we have to close further at least at f / 8 if not beyond to have a good sharpness in almost the entire frame, in short, a real challenge and game of apertures especially at certain focal lengths, in addition to the sharpness we say ... Not very satisfying, another thing to report is the varifocal behavior and that is with the zoomed you completely lose the focus of the subject. Distortion as aberration are very present, aberration I would say is a constant too, suffers little from flare. Always in my opinion, the material used for the realization of this lens excluding the bayonet, is plastic or similar moreover, in some points of the outer barrel are also visible the lines of the mold .... appalling! Not to mention the hood, when you attach it to the lens you do not feel that feeling of a firm hook. The autofocus and stabilization I must say instead that they are very valid, very responsive AF and super effective stabilization. On the internet there are many conflicting opinions on this lens and this says a lot!.... From my point of view it is not worth the money it costs, it is true that you have to postpone certain claims with certain categories of objectives but not even give away the money. As an owner of the XF 55-200mm although not WR and stops at 200mm, I consider it a zoom lens built much better, the metal is noticeable and is much more performing than this XF70-300mm over all spending almost € 200.00 less. Luckily Amazon is a guarantee and realized this after a week I returned it.

Pros: IQ, stabilization, weight, characteristics, aesthetics (subjective I know)

Cons: Varifocal behavior

Opinion: I fell in love with this optics. It has the right image quality (and I'm not good-mouthed), has a scary stabilization, weighs little, has the fire limiter which is a manna and then I really like it aesthetically, apart from the hood. The only flaw if we want is its varifocal behavior, that is, zooming you lose focus. But if you do "patient" photography like me, you can postpone it. Highly recommended for those who want a tele zoom of excellent quality, with features above average, without fainting.
