Pros: File quality. Compactness. Robustness. Silent shutter. Optical viewfinder.

Cons: Slowness.

Opinion: Machine with which I had a lot of fun with a lot of satisfaction. The body is sturdy and compact. The files are great and return a unique vintage flavor. The central shutter is very quiet. Manual controls are a plus. Unfortunately the machine has a slow af and sometimes you have to anticipate the action. But I fell in love and I do not exclude a return of flame.

Pros: Aesthetics, image quality, optical viewfinder

Cons: Slow autofocus, writing files, arrangement of some commands, battery life.

Opinion: I have owned her for almost ten years, an eternity in technological terms, yet I cannot separate myself from her. Undoubtedly it affects the aesthetics, unique and unattainable. But also the image quality is no less, with a rendering reminiscent of the analog era, starting with the soft colors. A magic that the later versions (S, T, F, V), in their clinical perfection, have not been able to replicate. Excellent sharpness over the entire frame, just a soft thread at f/2. The files are extremely clean and well workable in post production, allowing you to bring out the best of the Bayer sensor, especially in the b / w. We must not forget, then, the integrated nd filter, the flash sync available with all times, the optical viewfinder (very useful in bright light). Merits that make you forgive the defects of a project that mercilessly shows the years that have passed. The autofocus is slow, although the updates have made it possible to raise the operation to an acceptable level. Slow also the writing on sd (the burst is almost unusable). The battery does not last long, giving up at short notice. The evf is of the first generation, incomparable to modern ones. Absent then the preview of shooting, as in a reflex. The menu is not very intuitive. Cumbersome manual maf. Imperfections that become venial for a machine whose elective destination is meditated photography, towards which it boasts a true vocation. A philosophy that finds its raison d'00 in the fixed and non-interchangeable perspective. The only flaw limiting the arrangement of the commands. A ring dedicated to iso and a system to quickly change the point of maf would have been convenient. But imperfection is also an integral part of its charm.

Pros: Very good lens

Cons: Slow to focus, slow to shoot, slow to save, slow to navigate the menus (which are also not very intuitive), EVF decidedly dated, but above all made the sensor personally disappointing

Opinion: I took it attracted by the aesthetics very appealingly, as I think most people. I believed, having read several reviews, to find a very vintage and definitely good color rendering already from JPEGs, as per Fuji tradition, but I had to change my mind: regardless of the film simulation chosen, I practically never like JPEGs. And it is not a problem of age of the project: I have used several of the first digital canons, of which I greatly appreciate the yield, and they are all much older than the aforementioned one. The lens is excellent, even at full aperture the edges are more than good and the detail, if you enlarge, is there, but the photo as a whole turns out to be careless and soft. In comparison, my X-E1 that mounts the first 16mpx X-trans sensor has a much more satisfactory yield, and even the film simulations are much better. For the rest, the defects are the known ones: slow to do anything, not that it is a car devoted to sports photos but sometimes with its lag at the shot you miss the right moment in portraits or in the street. The OVF is interesting and actually simulates the experience of a rangefinder very well, but I personally practically never use it. The EVF is definitely dated, few pixels, slow in refresh and with unreliable colors. Overall it is a very interesting machine as a project, I don't think I will sell it almost only for "collecting". But later versions are probably a smarter purchase.

Pros: Quality and Design

Cons: Slow Autofocus

Opinion: I bought it because he talked about it at the time when from Nikonista thirty years I was using the D700 that had the same 12 mpixel. Of course the X-100 did not have interchangeable lenses, but the design so beautiful, the metal construction and not wicked convinced me to buy it. My surprise was that, while being a fixed lens machine, the quality of the images of this Fuji was extraordinarily superior to that of the Nikon D700 FF. I sold my Nikon Kit and I spent years before Nikon at Fuji's mirrorlesss with the X-T1 and its lenses. Even today comparing what produces the old X-100 compared to the quality of the Nikon Mirrorless, I do not regret being passed 5 years ago to FUJI.

Pros: Colors, feel, b/w etc...

Cons: Lens focus, inaccurate in shadow, high noise, big and heavy compared to the latest compact...

Opinion: I have reascended for the third time, for work I use an X-T3 but when I'm free I find that this version of the X100 is a machine that transmits something... It has many flaws, all known then I look at the files that churn and I think: But that I give a damn about sharpness, noise, weight... In short, I'm well and I consider his "flaws" as the peculiarities of a lady no longer young who knows how to seduce...
