Pros: Sharpness (only in FF), fast autofocus, Quick zoom, tripod ring

Cons: soft images in APS-C cameras, no weather sealing

Opinion: In my testing with a FF and an APS-C was very different in sharpness. In FF very sharp but in APS-C was very soft. In library test you can see this difference: ------- http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/ISO-12233-Sample-Crops.aspx?Lens=113&Camera=736&Sample=0&FLI=0&API=0&LensComp=113&CameraComp=9&SampleComp=0&FLIComp=0&APIComp=0 ------------ This disparity exists for all apertures. Sharpness results in my 40D was very very bad.

Pros: Colors Sharpness fast focus for your age

Cons: The dust that sucks

Opinion: And a lens with which You have to take the hand does not give anything if not understood, the criticisms on the speed of focus, in my opinion sometimes are not right if you shoot with a 5d you have a speed if you use a 1dx the hooking of the subject and fast and precise, So and everything in relation to the camera body that is used, the pasty of the photos is excellent, if the photo is not sharp it is not always his fault, then you know the latest model and more efficient and fast but it costs more than double I recommend it and an excellent school

Pros: Versatile, crisp and very practical

Cons: Nothing at today's prices

Opinion: Interesting focal, clutch pump zoom that allows very fast camera changes. It has two levels of stabilization I still prefer to raise the time and the iso. With the 1Ds and 7D mk1 returns excellent files to all apertures and focals. If you find it used put well take it, it almost always replaces the 70 - 200. Its small size for the focals it covers make it a great travel canvas. Paired with a basic zoom you have the complete kit in a FF. If you mount it on 7D you multiply X 1.6 you can go hunting. Target of 10 in 2020

Pros: Light, sharp enough, AF and decent stabilizer

Cons: Nothing really important, but compared with the 70-200 2.8 II a little less sharp

Opinion: Bought used by a friend who thought it too heavy (we made an exchange with the 70-300 L). Originally I would have preferred the 400 5.6 but I thought again. On FF the quality is good and the best itinerant photos of birds I made with this lens. It is light, very versatile, with an interesting minimum focus. It can also be used with 1.4x with some quality limit and only on cameras that allow the AF to 8 (like D7II). Very useful in sports photo for extreme versatility.

Pros: Very sturdy (a battleship), versatile, relatively light

Cons: It can certainly not compete with the younger twin II series, but that costs more than 1k € more, obvious no?? Brightness acceptable for daytime use.

Opinion: Very versatile and even if a little seasoned competes quietly with other similar newer, see Sigma and Tamron, to which I preferred after a direct confrontation. The robustness and reliability after many years of its appearance are a guarantee. Very sharp and versatile, although as mentioned it is not the top in all focal lengths. It is not a super bright, so it does not compare to a 2.8 or F4 fixed, but it does very well its duty even with a stabilizer dated but always functional. Enjoy it for the money you can buy in the used market!
