Pros: Gorgeous sensor, easy handling, lightweight, creates very beautiful photos

Cons: Slow AF, slow in general

Opinion: A camera to be used for reasoned photos, the autofocus is really slow but the shots it gives are really splendid. Access to the endless fleet of quality optics does justice to the general lens, paying off with stunning results. If you find it cheap, give yourself a gift but on condition that you keep your expectations of operating speed low, you will be rewarded by the thoughtful shots.

Pros: Aesthetics, Robustness, Form Factor, Sensor, Exposure Preview, Shutter Speed Dial

Cons: ISO management can be improved, only one command ring is poorly studied, AF, Q key position

Opinion: It's a car I've wanted to try for a long time. I already knew its amazing sensor from trying it on xm1. Compared to the latter, the xe1 loses only the tiltable screen but gains a lot in usability, first of all the exposure preview that on the xm1 there is only by pressing the shutter button halfway and not at the same time as the parameters change. Here the display is smaller but different, with a "serious" screen for settings. Another thing is the presence of an evf that some put among the cons but that I found more than sufficient; I didn't even have any difficulties, as some complain, for the lateral position (even if I shoot with my left eye the nose doesn't bother me). The sore points (with reservations) for me are the af and the iso management. The af-s is unthinkable if compared to my xt30, but with a bit of habit you can take shots (especially if staged); The ISO management is also worse than on the XT30 because here the front ring is missing, which in the "Modern" is deputed to this. All you have to do is use the function key or the q key: in the first case you can't inexplicably use the only command ring but the joypad (yes, there is no joystick like the xt30 but we are talking about twelve years ago); The Q key, on the other hand, modifies quickly with the dial but has been placed in the most unreachable point, so much so that to operate it you have to go looking for it. Another oddity of the command ring is that it can be used to change the aperture only on xc and xf lenses that do not have the adjustment on the barrel - on xt30 instead you can and it is very convenient for those who are used to reflex cameras. Needless to talk about the battery life because we all know the NP126: however, it makes the machines light and can be used on almost all fuji. At the end of the day the xe1 is a nice machine, with a really impeccable construction (a small tank). It's outdated but under two hundred euros, in good condition, it's great for making trips - I got it for this to go with the 27. The most important thing is that it takes really good photos - those who speak well of the first xtrans are not exaggerating - and with a reduced file weight (with the xt30 you only need 500 photos to fill 32 gigs - with the xe 1 it takes more than a thousand; the hardisks thank you). Then it's really, really beautiful: try to pick it up to understand

Pros: Sensor, cost used

Cons: EVF, functionality with manual optics

Opinion: Bought for 100€ to try the infamous 1st generation x-trans, I must say that in this respect it did not disappoint me: engraved photos, good details, excellent iso yield to be an APSC. Simulations film still clutch but there is already something succulent. The problem is that I took it to use it with adapted manual optics: big mistake, the EVF has a very bad resolution and the focus peaking is even worse, almost unusable. I therefore do not express myself on the performance of the AF not having used it. But it is not suitable to be used with manual optics.

Pros: Compact, robust, excellent image quality in both raw and jpg, valuable optical park, fairly accurate white balance.

Cons: Real sensitivity lower, about 2/3 stop, to the declared, for all values, very approximate AF in light conditions just less than good, the sensor gets dirty more than I do when I eat peanuts.

Opinion: Taken together with the 18-55 to go out light, which is impossible with the Canon 1Ds MKII, it conquered me immediately, so much so that I immediately joined them on the 23rd and 35th, F/2, and 60/2.4. Above all, I appreciated the classic usability, the rings of the times and the diaphragms, and the truly remarkable quality of the optics. Unfortunately, over time the lack of the mirror, I am used to SLRs, it got heavy and I gave it away.

Pros: Robust construction, compactness, lightness, aesthetics, x-trans sensor 16 MP, integrated flash, ergonomics of use, automatic white balance almost always perfect even with difficult light, good ISO seal up to 1600, after detail and color yield drop.

Cons: Rudimentary AF-C to say the least, single sd memory slot, focus peaking only white color.

Opinion: A camera that for what it offers and that currently costs is mandatory to buy. The sensor is one of the best x-trans i've ever tried: excellent detail rendering due to the absence of an AA filter, but MP also suitable for the use of vintage lenses. Analog and sincere rendering. Ergonomics is also perfect for large hands even if the camera is compact. Great construction. Very suitable for travel, street, reportage, photography designed. Unfortunately the AF-C which is as if there is no penalty for dynamic shots, but for those there are other cameras, perhaps more modern than this one from 8 years ago.
