Pros: Lightweight, technologically advanced (for 2015), remarkable stabilization, Cool

Cons: noise, autofocus and battery life.

Opinion: I loved this camera, as soon as I picked it up (I had it from 2017 to 2019) it made me fall in love with photography again, it makes you want to shoot.the flaws were there, noise at high iso, autofocus so-so, battery life .. the worst perhaps the Olympus menu and dedicated apps, but all forgivable for the amount of technology and precision it contains. I simply loved it!

Pros: Easy to handle, controls and finishes, colours

Cons: Sensor that today is a little outdated, battery, sensor exposed to lens change

Opinion: If we imagine it when it came out then we can take our hats off, but today we love it or hate it, I am the first. I carry it with me anyway, combined with the 9mm gives me the opportunity to shoot at the same time as the "normal". You have to expose well and not pull the ISO too much, the very effective stabilization helps a lot. The noise when it occurs is not so unpleasant, in case with a little denoise it is remedied. A note of merit to the controls and the beautiful line in general. Very good as far as colors are concerned. Battery? Put two more batteries in your pocket. Be careful when changing lenses because the sensor can get dirty.

Pros: Aesthetics, Focus bracketing and stacking, weight and bulk.

Cons: Battery, build quality.

Opinion: Socket only to try focus stacking in machina and focus bracketing. Truly brilliant for these functions that many other houses did not want to put. Although Olympus promotes it as "weather sealed", the metal it is made of is too fragile. A small fall and the bass broke which then puts me in difficulty for the use of the micrometric slide indispensable in my case. So, be very careful of shocks. It weighs little and also asks for little space. This makes up for it when you know you always have to carry some extra battery. Other added values that I find: the simplicity of the menus (you get used to it quickly) and the quality of the files on which you work easily (inherent since I had very dark nights with fuji files). Generally, the question of the maturity of a mature system, I see it through the availability of quality optics but also the battery life. Olympus rightly has an excellent macro lens (zuiko 60mm, taken with the machine), but their machines also have a serious battery problem and on that unfortunately I am happy with the weight of the SLR that I almost always carry together with the EM5II.

Pros: Aesthetics, stabilization, sensor sharpness, dimensions, customization keys, innovative functions, construction, adjustable flash

Cons: High ISO noise, battery life

Opinion: The first one was stolen from me and so I bought it back. Of incomparable beauty, despite owning other FF and APS-C machines of great performance, my Oly I always rediscover it for how it allows you to take great photos. Very valid as a machine to carry around, I use it now with the Panasonic 14-140, all-rounder lens of excellent quality and, despite having used it with the 12-40 that allows you to take photos of the highest level, but that unfortunately they stole me with the first example of EM5 II that I had, I must say that even with the Panasonic I get excellent results. The Live Mos sensor behaves very well, beautiful colors but still natural, so valid in portraits, sharpness that with good lenses reaches excellent levels, and the 16 mp are enough and advance. Photographing a lot in the evening, I certainly noticed more noise than I do with Fuji or nikon FF, but this problem can be overcome very well by learning to use it correctly. In fact, it should not be used as an FF or an APS-C, closing the diaphragm to have depth of field. Thanks to the m4/3 sensor, you can photograph very well with open apertures and still get a minimum of depth of field, so in the evening it is good and it is possible not to exceed 1600 ISO, sensitivity that allows you to control the noise very well and have really impressive sharpness and cleanliness of the image! Especially since if you photograph still objects or you want to highlight the movement, thanks to a fantastic stabilizer you can raise the shutter speeds freehand up to 1/5 of a second, and with a stabilized lens even up to half a second, obtaining really great results. In this respect it is an unbeatable machine, probably only the EM1 and the latest born OM1 do better. I will never deprive myself of it. However, I recommend using it with the additional grip, otherwise to hold it is not particularly comfortable, especially if you use it for a long time. And then, better to have a couple of spare batteries. Another tip is to avoid exaggerating in PP with sharpness, which is already excellent, a bit like in Fuji, otherwise you risk the cartoon effect. And then, although jpgs are great, it is good to post-produce in Lightroom because Workspace, Olympus' program, works worse in noise reduction. Although, as I have already written, if you work up to 1600 ISO the noise is almost non-existent and there is no need to reduce it, so as not to affect the excellent sharpness. One last big plus: the flash. It is not incorporated, it must be mounted if necessary. And it is a gem because not only does it work very well, even if not very powerful, but it is above all adjustable both laterally and upwards, something that is not possible to do either with the flashes on the classic APS-C, or on the Fuji X series. This is why it is my favorite in evening events where you do not need a particularly powerful flash, allowing you to take photos with excellent lightening flashes.

Pros: aesthetically still at the top, revolutionary features, image quality, weight, dimensions, top construction

Cons: Continuous AF not very performing now

Opinion: If we consider the moment of release of the product, when the mirrorless competitors were still in prehistoric times the EM5 mark2 takes a nice 10. however, even today it is a lady camera, which can be purchased new at ridiculous prices, which knows how to give enormous satisfaction. It is the machine that best embodies the concept of the olympus philosophy able to adapt perfectly to amateur and professional uses. introduces the extraordinary Hi-RES shot mode and elevates every positive quality of the previous, revolutionary, model by smoothing out the imperfections on the keys and lag. Menus are complicated only for those who do not habitually use the Olympus system as the main body, so I find it an unfounded criticism of any product or brand now. Perfect for street, portrait, travel and all those, many, photographic experiences that do not require ultra-responsive Af and other features now taken for granted on newer models. the feeling that leaves the shooting reactivity is still unique, precise, fascinating. a truly evergreen product that I have recently and with satisfaction added to my main kit to have a lighter and more practical machine
