Opinion: It is in use as my standard zoom lense, very good working with APS-C and also FF. Best sharpness results with a aperture range between f5.6 and f8. The lense is my first choice for travel. In my opinion there must be more aperture possible than F4. My proposal for a new version of the lense would be F2.8 At the moment I don't see a better lense of Canon for this zoom range. Only the EF 24-70 2.8 L USM II is interesting, but it costs more than double of the price of the 24-105.

Combined with an R6mk2 the quality is improved. Over time the zoom tends to loosen and no longer allowed me to take long exposure shots on a tripod with an upward or downward angle. It is an incredible all-rounder, a real guarantee when you want to play it safe and take home the service, it also has excellent colors, good bokeh, is sharp and has excellent stabilization; If they have sold them to wagons there will be a reason. On FF at 24mm it has a slight distortion but nothing dramatic, absolutely recoverable. It is an f4, so a bit dark, it does not have the magic of 24-70 but covers many more focal lengths, a feature that makes it irreplaceable. For me it remains a great companion of adventures!
