Nato a Vibo Valentia nel 1979. Vive dal 2007 in Scozia sulla costa del North Ayrhsire. Fortunato trae ispirazione sin da subito dalla natura di questa terra, la quale grazie alla mutevolezza del suo clima e della luce, associate alla grande varietá paesaggistica rappresenta una tela su cui poter raccontare le bellezze naturalistiche di uno tra i territori piú selvaggi del vecchio continente. Grazie alla vasta esperienza accumulata durante i suoi innumerevoli viaggi e progetti fotografici sviluppati nel landscape scozzese, Fortunato é considerato un vero e proprio punto di riferimento, nonché mentore per chiunque volesse approcciare questi meravigliosi scenari. Inoltre, l'autore ha al suo attivo numerose collaborazioni e riconoscimenti nei piú importanti concorsi di Fotografia naturalista del globo (tra i piu recenti: Highly commended - Glanzlichter 2015, Menzioni speciali - MML 2016/2015, Menzioni - Asferico 2014/15 , Menzione Speciale - GDT 2014, Vincitore di categoria Asferico 2013, Menzione speciale - Veolia 2012, Menzione Speciale - ICP 2012, Menzioni speciali Take A View 2010/11/12/14/15).
