pentax_k3iii_monochromePentax K-3 III Monochrome

Pros: well-built camera body, high ISO hold, really clear menus

Cons: ... The display, if used a lot in live view, warms up a bit

Opinion: This is really a "very first impression".... I have had the car for a few days and I have not had the opportunity to test it for long. However, as much as I used it, I can say that it is a well-made, well-built, robust machine (pentax takes care of the details, right from the packaging... TOP). The menu is clear (I use a sony A r5 as the first camera body and the menus are "a chaos"). Obviously, we are facing a niche object ... It is a monochrome sensor (it does not seem possible to have this as the first and only body). It holds up very well to high ISO: up to 6,400 and 12,800 there are no defects or aberrations. Beautiful images really (then, you can shoot directly in DNG, belloooooo) Bought to make street and book (commercial works) of a certain quality. Who will live will see(!!) I was torn between this body and the Leica Q2 Monochrom. Really happy with the choice, I wouldn't go back.

sony_a7r_vSony A7r V

Pros: Autofocus (space; from another planet); "Compressible" Raw files; viewfinder quality; reactivity; price.

Cons: battery life; Menu (please "You at Sony" put the Format Card command in the first / very first screen !!!! daiiiii and not in the third)

Opinion: I have this machine for a week and I only took two books per studio (no more!!) So these are really first impressions. Let's start with the autofocus: in my opinion (and I owned and tried a bit of everything) this sony is on another planet. For fun I tried the face recognition of birds with a photo on the phone, but the camera does not give up even a photo. On people and portraits it is embarrassing; practically the same speed as the human eye TOP TOP TOP. Very well then the raw files with the 3 formats small, medium, large "without loss" of information. For books that are used on FB and Instagram the medium is also "too much stuff". Here, too, excellent work. The only sore point, the battery ... For those who work there you need to have at least 2/3 always charged and at hand (with a battery after half a day you are at the limit). Among the pros also the price: 4,500 euros for a car so they are "stragiusta and stragiustificati" (especially if you compare it with the competition.... I wonder which one though, given the performance of this new entry!!).

sony_fe24-70gm_iiSony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II

Pros: Excellent construction, weight, sharpness, and robustness

Cons: Price (?? perhaps)

Opinion: I confess right away that I come from the sigma 24-70 2.8 ART optics that at the beginning I had preferred for value for money to the GM first version. And the choice at the time turned out to be right. Today with the "GM II" everything has changed. Sony optics have taken a big step forward in many directions: weight, precision, sharpness, build quality. The "GM II" is not a simple update, but a new, beautiful and performing optics. You work very well without any hesitation. Great job done by Sony and extra-recommended optics. After all, such a lens cannot cost less than 2 thousand euros, it would be ridiculous. So the complaint about the price "there is", but still it is money well spent.

fujifilm_gfx50s_iiFujifilm GFX50S II

Pros: files really rich in information, simple menu to use and written "in Italian", portability and ergonomics, jpeg with "fuji presets" really top

Cons: I hope fuji will increase soon the optical park with 2-3 quality objectives

Opinion: I have this camera for about ten days and I used it twice in the studio to shoot two books and I did a couple of outings around Rome (I took it in kit with 35-70mm). Needless to dwell on the technical aspects, there are dozens of videos on youtube that explain everything.... let's start by saying that it is a machine made very very well, absolute enjoyment. He knows how to do his job well: portrait photography, still life, landscapes and architecture. STOP (!!) for everything else (especially for sports photography) there are many other products. Needless to ask a Ferrari to go slowly in city traffic, or a 500 to speed on the track. Those who buy this product know what they want (I also have a sony alfa 7 R IV as the first body, and I have had over 15 nikon of all kinds). Highly recommended also because already with the kit you do excellent work at an ultra competitive price. Brava fuji, a mature product (I had also tried the 100s in June in Naples, but in the end I opted for this one and I am not at all sorry).
