Reviews of cameras, lenses, tripods, heads and other accessories written by Fotofano

Microsoft Translator  The following opinions have been automatically translated with Microsoft Translator.

panasonic_g90Panasonic G90

Pros: 1) Build quality. 2) Color quality and B&N. 3) High level stabilization with consequent possibility of using long times. 4) Nice and versatile to use. 5) Tropicalized 6) V-Log and other interesting video settings. 7) Lots of affordable accessories and lenses including a very nice battery grip. 8) Exemplary instruction manual: complete, very well written and in Italian, deserves praise. 9) Charger supplied in box, ditto: deserves praise. Many don't wear it anymore. 10) The M 43 system has manageable costs

Cons: 1) The on/off switch looks a bit flimsy and "jerky" but works well 2) the screen doesn't fully render the real quality of the photos (the photos are better).

Opinion: By now with the Nikon Z30 I felt the lack of the viewfinder and the transition to the new Z50 would have been expensive. The trade-in with the Lumix G90 kit with the G 12-60 lens (24-120 equivalent!) was about even. It was a difficult choice but when I heard the sound of his first shots, I immediately knew that I was holding a high-precision and high-quality instrument in my hands, and this reassured me. With this camera I can do photography as with a film camera, with a closed screen, aiming only from the viewfinder. But if I want I can also make good quality videos (at least on paper - I haven't tried it yet) with the adjustable screen and all the jacks for microphones, headphones etc etc. It has, as a separately available accessory, for a fee, the battery grip that gives it an even more professional look. It comes with a charger in the box and the complete instruction manual in pdf that can be downloaded in Italian from the Panasonic website: both important added values in a period in which some brands do not give one or the other. The menu is the classic Lumix one, very clear, rich, schematic and simple. One of the features that surprised me the most is the "4k live cropping", in the video section, which allows you to program the movement of the frame within a fixed field with a fixed camera. I don't know if I've described it well but just look at the tutorials on YouTube. The 1.25 X magnification that generates (only) in 4K video, in my opinion, has been designed for use with the Lumix G 20 mm f/1.7 lens which - when calculations are made - becomes a 50 mm (corresponding FF). Speaking of the mythical Micro 4/3 sensor... Many critics say that it has difficulty in bokeh but in the photos I have published it is evident that the G90 is able to generate the bokeh effect both on panoramic photos (note the difference in focus between the ship and the background, in the first night photo at distances of 800 meters - 1km and 1/2), as well as on macro photos (see flowers and berries) or at medium distance (tree and bench). With the appropriate adjustments and in certain situations it generates a really beautiful b&w with a fairly sharp black and white and with shades of gray that seem drawn and shaded in pencil: I liked them very much. As for the dynamic range of light and color it seems to be doing quite well - I still have to practice. The quality of the screen does not help in the precise evaluation of the real quality of the photos, especially if I zoom in. I always check on computers. It holds up to ISO 6800 well and the stabilization of the sensor combined with that of the G lens allows you to shoot with rather long times handheld without blur. The battery is a bit small and doesn't last very long with normal/intense use but if you adjust the power saving and only use the auto-off viewfinder, with the screen closed, as I did, it lasts much longer. Without energy saving (I didn't know it yet) it lasted several hours with the car almost always on (in longer breaks I turned it off). The physical on/off switch feels flimsy and "jerky" but it works. Beautiful, powerful, tiny, lightweight and affordable G optics. It can be fitted with Lumix G, Leica, Zuiko lenses, etc. To reduce the noise from underexposure I applied the menu functions "rid. long shut" and "comp. diffr.". I had been asked to buy it for a couple of years. I finally got it and it was worth it. It's one of my best purchases at the moment.

ricoh_wg6Ricoh WG-6

Pros: 1) design 2) build quality 3) solidity, robustness, impact and weather resistance 4) image quality (in various color types and in black & w) 5) very effective HDR 6) full instruction manual in English on the Ricoh European Imaging website (great thing)

Cons: 1) ISO greater than 125 give results that I don't like 2) default settings of the dial and buttons 3) I don't see the usefulness of the GPS 4) lack of direct Wi-Fi connection with smartphone, special SD card is required

Opinion: PROS: 1) the design is very nice 2) the perceived build quality and solidity are remarkable, especially for a camera of this price. 3) Image, color and b&w quality: once the "quick menu" has been set by changing the function of the "ADJ" (originally direct video recording button) and "green" (originally reset settings button) buttons... hard for me to understand what it's for in a camera without SAM functions...), you can have direct access and control over 6 favorite functions (which you can choose from a list). I chose a) exposure correction b) iso c) color d) highlight correction e) shadow correction, on the "ADJ" button, and f) White Balance, on the "green button". Since with isos greater than 125 I couldn't get photos with the level of definition I wanted, I chose to keep the iso almost always at 125. With this fixed setting and changing all the other parameters with the functions listed above, I was able to get more than satisfactory photos in most cases, sometimes even very very beautiful, all up to dusk and the first sunset. After that I experimented with both P with high iso, the night scene handheld (always high iso), and "candlelight" but I was not satisfied with the result. I then experimented with the night function with a tripod that works at low iso and with times up to 4 seconds (the other scenes tested instead stop at 1/4 of a second by default) and, having a tripod or a fixed support, the results were interesting even in night photos. I haven't tried the other scenes yet (HDR yes). I feel I have to point out that I really liked all the color modes and b&w and I think the camera is able to take good photos even in "street photography", even if it is not my branch. I have the orange/copper metallic model (it was the only one available at the moment) which is very flashy - useful perhaps for divers. For street photographers, and all those who like discretion, I think the black model is far more suitable. Sharpness, saturation, contrast are also adjustable, and image quality enhancement can be activated. You can print the date on the photo. 4) the HDR scene is very effective: amazing results. Among the scenes there are also three types of interspersed photos/videos, a portrait mode, etc. Excellent and intuitive level. The videos are good, and the SR+ stabilization, with a slight magnification, is very effective. There's also simple SR stabilization. In general, after patiently studying and translating the manual into English (a language I don't know) page by page, I managed to get very beautiful photos and I'm satisfied. The first few days though I was quite disappointed... because I didn't like (and don't like) the default settings of the machine at all. CONS: 1) The mode dial has the "CALS" mode in the first place. 2) The "macro" mode (symbol: microscope) turns on all the front LEDs of the machine by default ... and is placed before U1, U2 and video ... Which means that, to access these last 3 ways, I have to either switch to the macro and turn on all the front lights, or I have to turn off the car, turn the dial and then turn the car back on. ... 3) Keys: one button is entirely and indelibly dedicated to GPS. 4) You can't send photos to smartphones, except with a special SD card. Ultimately, I'm satisfied. Beautiful photos and it's nice to photograph in the rain without worries. That's what I was hoping for. Update 04/02/24 ... Full manual in English pdf now available on the ricoh imaging European website. Great thing. I'm re-studying it all from the 1st page. Thank you Ricoh for your attention! Of course, the manuals are available in many other languages, not only Italian.

pentax_k5-2sPentax K-5 IIs

Pros: 1) It's Pentax 2) unique and beautiful black and white with infrared filter and other filters 3) always beautiful color 4) Pentax lifestyle and philosophy 5) battery life seems very high 6) high-end shooting mechanism, soft touch 7) Silkypix software and complete manual both paper and pdf supplied 8) screen with sophisticated anti-glare vision technology 9) screen information on the screen changes orientation, when shooting vertically 10) it is robust and tropicalized 11) stabilized sensor 12) no AA filter 13) etc etc

Cons: It weighs and clutters a bit (but it doesn't matter - it's a Pentax)

Opinion: Finally, after years, I found a used Pentax at an affordable price and I happened upon this K5IIs that is on a level I have never tried so far. Years ago I had a K50 that I loved and I sold it for little, for an unforgivable error of judgment. I waited a long time before I could go back to Pentax but it was worth it. Although this K5IIs is older, it is much more advanced and sophisticated than the K50: metal body and structure with tropicalization, soft touch shooting, adaptive orientation screen information, screen with sophisticated anti-glare technology, no AA filter, Prime II processor, 16 Mp sensor but with 4 stars (degrees) of jpeg file quality and universal raw format availability. The battery life seems very high. Full menu. Lots of adjustments for color and b & w, each with its classic fascinating geometric graphic, 15 stops of screen brightness. Gorgeous Black and White, for my taste - as in all Pentax. Even the color photos are very nice but with a b & w so beautiful one does not notice. It weighs and clutters but it's worth it. It would be to carry it always with you. Born for photography but if you happen to make a short unpretentious souvenir movie, I think it's fine.

nikon_z30Nikon Z30

Pros: Compact, lightweight, solid, functional. Ideal for travel photography, vlogs, videos. Great image quality and color and b&w modulability. Exceptional dynamic range compared to my previous cameras. Bright screen even under the sun. Longer battery life for no viewfinder. Great versatility of use.

Cons: The price of the 18-140 zoom for me is high.

panasonic_tz57Panasonic Lumix TZ57 / ZS45

Pros: 1) sensor quality 2) optical 3) compact 4) zoom 5) excellent stabilization 6) great black and white great - although semi-automatic 7) good full HD video starting from almost all modes, even creative (also b&n) 8) tipper screen great for selfies, vlogs, etc. etc. 9) Size

Cons: 1) in PSAM does not provide any even minimal color adjustment (saturation, contrast etc) 2) the high contrast b&n and all other non-PSAM modes are automatic or smi-auto 3) automatic videos from all positions dial

Opinion: I have it for a few days so I will definitely update my opinion. At the moment I am stunned (positively) by 4 things: 1) the quality of the sensor, capable of a definition and details that I would not have expected from a compact. 2) the b&n is great. It's in creative mode. Too bad it's almost completely automatic. You can correct exposure 3) returning to a pure compact is quite shocking for the compositional freedom that allows you with an optical zoom about 24 - 500, if I'm not mistaken, all in a thin 2 cm thick, when you know that, with an APSC or 1" , this luxury would weigh you hundreds of grams if not a few kilo of optics, not to mention backpacks and bags to carry them with you 4) the videos seemed great. On paper 1080 fullHD 25p at about 20Mbs. The only limitation of this machine is that it looks "self-limited": 1) No color adjustment or b&n in PSAM, not even basic (contrast, saturation, sharpness) 2) all creative functions are automatic or semi-auto. What I've been learning over the years, since I've been involved in amateur photography, is that once you get to know a machine, you just have to learn how to use it for what it can give. This machine really costs little for what it gives (about 140 euros on the internet) for which I accepted the limits: I know that I can make nice PSAM photos but without creative support, which, if I want special effects, I go on scenes, or on automatic creative modes or semi-cars and if v oglio make movies, choose the effect (vibrant color, dynamic, b&n, etc.) and will make a great automatic movie. Videos are also automatic in PSAM. I turn the screen and I can make a video diary, record lessons, videos for a blog, selfies, family memories, everything you need, controlling the frame as in a camera and with a very good video quality. Zooming returns a creative advantage in the composition that is practically priceless. Finally I only came out with the jacket, without a backpack. The machine seems to handle the light (and the backlight) more than well in most situations. The results, both photos and videos, are always great. It is a pity that, in large part, they are the result of automation but, as I said, for this price, I take my hat off. Thank you Panasonic. Update: At ISO 400, the loss of definition is evident.

fujifilm_xf10Fujifilm XF10

Pros: 1) beautiful 2) not too expensive, almost cheap, for the market sector to which it belongs 3) shooting pleasure 4) very high quality and definition of photos and videos 5) extraordinary ISO hold 6) excellent battery, excellent durability 7) 2 more "virtual" optics (35mm and 50mm) of Great quality in photos 8) b&n infrared filter availability 9) is Fujifilm and has all the typical features of Fujifilm 10) is really portable and is an APSC ! 11) Interspersed shot programmable photos and video timelapse

Cons: 1) updates 2) there is no MENU USER or C where to store user settings 3) on-screen viewing, while using the 2 virtual optics, is low quality 4) few accessories (especially I did not see the network feeder in the list) 5) the b&n filter infrared is in the advanced semi-automatic menu 6) lack of the classic silkypix canned software

Opinion: 01. At first glance I fell in love with this XF10 and waited a long time before I could afford it. It's an exciting machine. In practice, I have already said everything about the list of merits and defects. 02. I must say with regret - being a big fan and admirer of Fujifilm - that I was very disappointed by the first firmware update, which - in my opinion - has greatly worsened, rather than improved, autofocus performance. And, after reading negative opinions about the second update, I think I made a very wise move: I reset the machine to the factory state and - from the first tests - it seems to have returned to the perfect functionality it had from new. 03. Also, finding out that I could not memorize user settings was another disappointment, especially given that on the old Fujifilm XF 1 I had 2 User settings available in the dial and that, given the negative experiences with updates, I do not hope more to have this feature in the future. It's an annoying limit, but you have to make a point of it. 04. There are other limits such as semi-automatic infrared b&n in advanced (it would have been better in manual with movie simulations), virtual optics not available in all settings and in videos, etc etc. The magnificagnions of the virtual optics are seen badly on the screen when you select them before taking the photo but then, when you do the verification, both on the machine and on the computer, the photo taken is of excellent quality. 05. On the diatribe of the comparison between XF10 and GR III: I think it is superfluous: GR III costs twice as much. Instead, GR II was sold for 520 euros and could be an attractive alternative with a gap of 50 euros. 06. Fujifilm XF10 remains an excellent machine, with a beautiful design, capable of photos and videos of spectacular quality. I have a video in advanced that, if I could choose the time, would have been "from the cinema": absolutely spectacular. 07. Great ability to configure the quick menu and function keys. It is impractical to "swipe" on the touch screen. Great joystick. Light plastic delicacies and look fragile: better to use them with two fingers and delicacy. I bought a second original battery: great price, under 50 euros. Not all brands are so benevolent. 08. Despite the 4 main disappointments (1.updates 2.lack menu user 3.virtual optics not available in all modes 4.lack of silkypix) are very, very satisfied: it is a great machine. It is almost unique on the market with these features and at this price; the only real alternative are the last GR II in stock at 520 euros (you exceed the wall of 500 - an important figure).

nikon1_j1Nikon 1 J1

Pros: 1) Design, design, idea, charm 2) fantastic colors and b&n fantastic menu 3) fantastic menu, rich and rational 4) excellent build quality 5) sensor: 1", screened, depth of field (great bokeh) 6) excellent ergonomics 7) can also shoot in RAW 8) price current (with 4 years' warranty) very low

Cons: 1) sensor: definition 2) ISO seal

Opinion: When it came out on the market, as far as I know, Nikon produced an incredible amount of it and made great publicity on TV, Cinema and Newspapers, in my opinion with the ambition to bring the "great photography" to everyone. Unfortunately, I myself, at the time, was not at all prepared and did not understand the difference between a compact PSAM of 1/2.3 and a Nikon 1, and the high price did not help. It's been 8 years and I decided to venture for a price that has now become much lower than a compact 1/2.3 PSAM. The only flaw I find is the somewhat dated sensor, which manifests itself in a slightly lower definition than the more recent 1", also because it has 10.1 MP, and in a low ISO seal. It should be taken into account a) that I am also used to "evil" with Fujifilm which has a very high ISO seal, and b) that the tests i carried out are all with autumn/winter light and twilight; you will have to see in the summer in full morning light. However, a grainy photo at 400 or 800 ISO is not necessarily bad: you have to see how the photographer plays it. Let's move on to the merits that are so many and fantastic. It has a design and a knockout charm: people turn to look at it for how beautiful it is, thinking it's a novelty. It has a very rich menu where you can choose almost everything (only the multi-exposure and infrared filter for the b&n and some "modern" scene mode are missing): store 9 custom C settings in the car and 99 in sD card, Interval shot, 5 focus modes, a large amount of color and b&n parameters (sharpness, contrast, brightness, saturation, tint, filter effects, tone), 6 presets plus 4 scenes , AUTO, fine white balance calibration. The rationality of the Nikon menu, with its austere, elegant, perfectly tidy design, is priceless indeed. It feels like another world. When you search for a function you know where to find it and it's always and only where it should/should be. Personally I managed to get the bokeh effect from the first shot and - personally - I willingly barwithit it with the definition and THE ISO estate. In addition, the 2 optics in kit (10-30 and 30-110) allow you to get a photo at 200 mm with a definition that a premium with digital zoom I think can not get in any way. The videos are: 1) HD 1080 60i, 2) HD 1080 30p 3) 720 60p 4) 400 fps 5) 1200 fps [4) and 5) for slow-motion footage, and with a small size - clearly] and you can choose whether to make them in PSAM or AUTO. I did a test with 1080 30p and it's not bad. The audio is excellent and compact (AAC format). With the electronic shutter, take up to 60 photographs/second at full resolution. In "smart photo selection" on the dial, take 25 shots for a photo and let you choose which one to keep in the top 5 pre- selected by her. I mean, it's a crazy car for me. You just have to accept, with some displeasure, the sensor limits and work hard to avoid tripping you as much as possible.

sony_rx100iiiSony RX100 III

Pros: 1) Tiny 2) photos always come well (never goes wrong) 3) materials and build quality 4) video compartment with numerous combinations of sizes and quality 5) battery with good autonomy 6) HDR and filter ND excellent 7) Fn key very practical

Cons: 1) makes photos from compact 2) full instruction booklet not immediately available (found after unspeakable searches) 3) few adjustments to customize the b&n 4) depth of field 5) definition, 6) editing software supplied, 7) price

Opinion: The premise: I am passionate non-professional but I still consider myself an artist in many fields. I express a personal opinion both here and in the list of pros and cons. I come from a Fujifilm XF1 (and I have a fully functioning Pentax K50). Unfortunately, I don't like this Sony: the project philosophy behind it is the opposite of what I was looking for. In my opinion the machine never goes wrong because it gives few possibilities for adjustment, so it gives "always perfect" but "impersonal" shots, in the sense that the machine, despite having many "empty boxes" available for personal styles, does not allow the user create your own "stylistic signature"; every "perfect photo" is only thanks to Sony and to me so also the desire to go out. I prefer to miss 70 shots out of 100 but go home with 30 good photos of which 3 memorable and all absolutely "mine", rather than going home with 100 "perfect" shots out of 100, of which not one I feel like "mine". PHOTOS: Pregi has some, although I take them for granted: it is built well and with good materials, although the almost smooth black painted aluminum design does not like it. The adjustable screen helps in certain shots and is built very well (I use it however with very cautious delicacy). The menu, as everyone says, is complicated but if you learn to set the menu in the 12-pane grid of the Fn key, life simplifies a lot. The aspect of the menu that has puzzled me the most are the apps: there are several as a gift, however, if you use an app, you exit completely from the "machine system" and, if you want to go back to using normal functions, you have to exit the app. There are 3 types of black and white: normal (adjustable), high contrast, rich shades. On the first you can only adjust contrast and sharpness, on the second nothing, on the third you can adjust something but since it only works with automatic multi-timer (type HDR) at the end it is as if you do not decide anything. It's not for me. The color is better because, although you can only adjust contrast, sharpness and saturation, in the end you give yourself many preset customizations. Excellent HDR and ND filter. It seems to me that the definition is significantly reduced by moving away from the wide-angle and increasing the iso, especially after 1600 - 2000, and that it is really difficult to get depth of field and bokeh effect. Editing software supplied (very few jpeg features) not comparable - for completeness and simplicity of use - to the Silkypix that I had supplied with Pentax and Fujifilm. The starting price indicated by Sony would have been unattainable for me; today this machine is located at half price in various sites (being out of production for several years) but in my opinion the price is still excessive, as only camera, bearable taking into account the video sector. VIDEO: The video sector is very good. The XAVCS 50p 50 modes with LCPM audio (unsampled linear - very good) and AVCHD 50p 28M give videos of a remarkable image compactness and quality and in general the video is operated by almost all positions of the dial (with the pre-set quality starting from the video location, it allows you to film in PSAM. Not all cameras and cameras allow these freedoms. Ultimately, In my opinion, he makes compact photos and video from cinema. It's a good car but I don't like it because it's hard for me to take art photos, not being able to adjust and customize the machine the way I want. I see with confidence that others have managed to get much nicer photos than mine ... we hope they can be obtained without pp software because I almost never use them. These are my personal impressions. Update: I finally sold it.

fujifilm_xf1Fujifilm XF1

Pros: 1) Outstanding design, 2) outstanding material quality, 3) exceptional build quality and assembly, 4) photo quality between the excellent and the excellent, 5) excellent compactness/portability, 6) quite rich menu, 7) very quality 2/3" sensor High, 8) excellent battery (to be handled carefully), 9) excellent value for money 10) multiple exposure and "three-dimensional" photos 11) remarkable quality video

Cons: 1) Undetailed instruction booklet, 2) lack of programmable interspersed shot , 3) unintuitive photo count mode, 4) the automatic both simple and exr tends to overexpose.

Opinion: The premise: I'm just a passionate non-professional and my opinion, including the one expressed in the pros and cons, is the story of my personal experience. Before expressing an opinion on Fujifilm XF1, I waited about a month and maybe more, and updated it after years of use . I was used to Pentax K 50, so to a very high standard, but learning to use it, the Fujifilm XF1 was able to give me considerable satisfaction. It's a great machine. Able to give excellent/excellent photos both in color and black and white. The concept of black and white here made by Fujifilm was not what I expected at the beginning but, studying and studying in detail my own photos, I had to realize that it was a beautiful black and white and that understanding its characteristics helped adjust the machine accordingly, without trying to force its limits. In an attempt to get skies of an absolute black I brought the machine to produce annoying shading (see my photo "P.zza del Papa_01"), but if I took a step back and respected the philosophy of black and white that the engineers (perhaps) wanted to realize, the photo was better, more balanced (see my photo "ship_07"). In any case, I repeat that, for me, the photos are of quality between the excellent and the excellent. The built-in lens with integrated start-up unsettles not a little, but, when you take practice, in addition to being very easy, you understand that it is the heart of the design of the machine, a particular construction of absolute sophistication. Fujifilm engineers deserve a prestigious award for this idea, to be revived in future models. The metal parts of the machine (like all other materials) are of superb quality. Another priceless value: it's a machine you carry around every day and, as soon as you have the inspiration, you take it out of your pocket and take your photograph. There are also refined functions such as multi-exposure and three-dimensional simulation shooting (which unfortunately I have never used). Just before it stopped working, I discovered the dynamic advanced photo mode and made a short black-and-white video with definition, shades, depth of field and fantastic three-dimensionality. In the years that I used this wonderful machine, I missed a nice manual of detailed and descriptive instructions (I find that the manual provided is small and summary) and the lack of the interval shot programmable. Otherwise, having had this machine was a very nice experience, hard to forget.

lg_g4LG G4

Pros: Camera (with manual control, sensor 1 / 2.7 "and aperture fixed f1.8) are quite extraordinary for a phone, very sleek, rugged phone, high-quality screen, remarkably fast and powerful.

Cons: And 'robust but still "fragile", if it falls. Instructions insufficient camera (in my opinion), it could be more comprehensive and thorough. With the camera did 30 but they could do and put 31 other gadgets such programmable sequential photography and b & na priori mode

Opinion: 3Bunica do not adjustable is the fixed aperture (1.8), which makes the bright lens in the dark and does not create problems in the sun. Focus multipoint would be optimal but maybe I did not understand how to use it and sometimes puts me in difficulty. From this point of view and also for other functions I believe that the instructions are deficient in detail: a real shame. The b & n you can put only as a rear filter - if I also realized on film: a pity, they could put it as a priori shooting mode. However the result is a b & n pretty good (I tried it only with photo). Viewing and processing of raw files, after one year, have remained a mystery to me: here insufficient instructions. The original jpeg photo is of very good quality - sometimes excellent - but as soon as you apply an even slight magnification and a change to the file with an app, the photo quality may be lower resulting in a drastic way. rnDopo few months I fell out of his pocketon terraced steps of stone beating both glass (actually protected by a fraction of a mm from the metal frame) that of that of the lid edges. Three crushed edges, cover and screens free, feature unscathed. It 'been a very lucky fall: I know that others did not go so well. I applied right away i-blason houses which greatly increases the size of the phone but delivers exceptional security: fell 2 times (with the houses - blason), and has not really even noticed. With the case the screen is clearly not the most sensitive and bright as without, but it's even more than good: the compromise is acceptable.

pentax_k50Pentax K-50

Pros: 1) Excellent quality, 2) tropicalization, 3) remarkable possibilities of color management and other parameters, 4) double ring, 5) remarkable black and white (infrared filter, high contrast adjustable filter etc.), 6) relatively low price compared to the endowment, 7) ability to use lithium battery or rechargeable batteries with adapter (original accessory to buy separately), 8) intervalized shooting with wide choice of parameters, 9) watercolor filter/drawing with really remarkable and interesting effects.

Cons: it is a reflex, therefore: 1) weight, 2) footprint, 3) additional price of optics. 4) Non-orientable display (counterbalanced by very useful equipment and difficult to find in other machines), 5) There is no audio jack socket for external microphone. 6) Mono audio.

Opinion: As written on my profile, I am a passionate non-professional, so my opinion applies to what it is worth: it is only the story of my personal experience. It was my first (and only) DSLR. When I bought it I was stunned: it looked like a portable photo lab. The possibilities of managing color and other parameters is amazing. The double dial and the external controls are very comfortable. Black and white is gorgeous. I don't take many color photos but even in this field the level looks interesting. Very functional and rational digital interface. . Among the cons I put the price back (as among the pros), because anyway, when buying a reflex, the interchangeable optics multiply the costs compared to compacts. Years later I confirm: exceptional and unmissable machine but, for those who come from a compact, even manual but simple (not premium), it is advisable to switch first from a compact premium, as then I did. The level of complexity is remarkable and to overcome the weight/clutter problem requires great determination, patience and spirit of adaptation, and the awareness that you sacrifice so much comfort in exchange for so much quality. Photo.
