Valentina Degiampietro vive a Trento e svolge la sua attività fotografica prevalentemente in mezzo alla natura, cercando di trasmettere le emozioni provate nella solitudine e nel silenzio dei boschi e delle montagne, per lo più rincorrendo animali selvatici.
Una delle passioni più grandi, che si è tradotta in una forte "sensibilità fotografica", è quella legata al mondo dei cani con particolare attenzione al rapporto che si può creare tra un essere umano e un animale.
Ha avuto il piacere di esporre degli scatti in una rassegna personale dal titolo "Friends", esposta da Phf Photoforma presso lo Spazio Espositivo Pretto di Trento (www.prettoexpo.org) nel febbraio del 2013 e di pubblicare un libro sullo stesso argomento, cercando di descrivere l'indissolubilità di un legame, profondo e paritetico, capace di trascendere la prevedibilità dei ruoli tradizionalmente ascritti al cane a all'uomo.
Usa fotocamere reflex digitali professionali "full frame", prediligendo corpi e obiettivi Nikon.
